Back in 2011, along with Kochi Tuskers Kerala, the Pune based franchise Pune Warriors India joined the other eight teams in the IPL which were part of the cash-rich league earlier. The franchise added some international stars to their squad namely Yuvraj Singh, Mitchell Marsh, Angelo Mathews and many more.

With the strong squad they had, PWI looked like a strong contender for the trophy but managed to win only 12 matches in 3 seasons, failing in all the editions they participated. However, the Pune based franchise withdrew from the IPL over financial differences with BCCI back in May, 2013.

Pune Warriors India played a total of 46 matches in their 3 years stint in the IPL. They won only 12 matches and in the 3 seasons they were placed at second-last twice and once at last place in the points table. They played their last match against Delhi Daredevils in 2013 and never played again in IPL.

After playing the finisher&#8217;s role for RCB in 2010, Robin Uthappa was bought by PWI for 2011 IPL where he finished as the top scorer for the franchise ever. He evolved as an apt T20 player scoring tons of IPL runs for the franchises so far. Despite his consistent performances in IPL, Robin managed to play only 13 T20Is and 46 ODI’s for India.

Despite the team’s poor shows, he became the team&#8217;s lead batsman and scored as many as 1103 runs in 46 matches for the now-defunct franchise. He also kept the wickets for the side in all the three seasons from 2011 to 2013.

After PWI left IPL he was bought by KKR for IPL2014 where he bagged the Orange Cap with 660 runs and played a crucial role in winning the second trophy for the team. Due to his poor form in last year’s IPL he was released by KKR and was bought by RR for this year’s IPL.

Cricket Australia’s limited overs skipper is one of the vital members of the squad in their last season in IPL. He used to be an explosive batsman of the now defunct team and was a part of the playing XI in all the 14 matches the franchise played that season.

In the 14 matches he played for the Pune Based franchise, Finch scored a whopping 456 runs at an average of 32.57 and with a strike rate of 135.71. He also bowled four overs for the franchise picking up a wicket at an economy of 12.25.

After the franchise’s exit from the IPL, Finch played for four other teams namely Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Lions and Kings XI Punjab but still his performance for the Pune franchise tops the list. Currently he is in a great touch playing for his nation and is expected to open batting for <a href="https://www.facebook.com/crictracker/photos/a.643089012388490/3897616803602345" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Royal Challengers Bangalore</a> in IPL 2020.

Manish Pandey is the first Indian batsman to score a century in the history of the league. He achieved that feat playing for the Bangalore based franchise back in 2009. Due to his consistent performances for RCB, he was bought by Pune Warriors India in the auction ahead of the 2011 IPL.

Manish was an integral part of the franchise from 2011 to 2013 and played 27 matches for the team in those 3 years. He scored 525 runs at an average of 23.86 and with a strike rate of 111.23 for the now defunct franchise. In addition to his batting skills Manish is an excellent fielder and took 14 catches in the process.

Manish was later bought by KKR in the 2014 IPL auction and he later played an important role in the franchise’s second IPL win by scoring 94 runs in the final against KXIP. Currently, Pandey is becoming an integral part of the national limited-overs team and is all set to represent SRH in IPL 2020.

Yuvraj Singh was one of India’s biggest match-winners in white ball cricket and especially in T20 cricket he was the backbone of the team with his attacking stroke play. After playing for KXIP for three years, Yuvraj was bought by the Pune based franchise and was made the captain of the team in 2011.

He didn’t play any match in the 2012 edition as he was battling cancer at that time. In the other 2 seasons he was with the franchise, Yuvraj played 27 matches and scored 581 runs at an average of 26.4. He also picked 15 wickets with the ball in his hand.

Later Yuvraj played for RCB, DC, SRH, KXIP and MI before retiring from international cricket last year. He also holds the record for the highest bid for a player in the auction, the record he achieved when the Delhi franchise bought him for INR 16 crores in 2015. Currently, Yuvraj has been playing foreign T20 leagues.

The <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/bangladesh-announce-27-member-preliminary-squad-for-sri-lanka-tour-mahmudullah-and-mustafizur-rahman-included/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Sri Lankan</a> all-rounder was bought by the Pune based franchise ahead of the 2011 edition of the league. But he didn’t play the whole season due to some injury issues. But in 2012, Mathews made his debut for the Pune based franchise and also captained the team on several occasions in the absence of Yuvraj.

Mathews didn’t perform up to the mark for the franchise as he scored only 299 runs at an average of 21.35 in 20 matches he played for the now defunct team. He also took 12 wickets while donning Pune&#8217;s jersey.

Due to his poor show in the 2013 season, Mathews went unsold in the 2014 auction. But he continued to perform for his international team and became captain of his side. Later he played for the Delhi based franchise in the IPL up to 2017. He is still an integral part of the Sri Lankan team and was also part of last year’s World Cup squad.

Luke Wright was a replacement for Tim Paine for the Pune based franchise ahead of IPL 2012 as the team was impressed with his all-round skills. He remained part of the squad for the next 2 years and played 7 matches in those years.

In the 7 matches he played for the franchise, he scored 106 runs at an average of 21.2. He was used as a finisher by the franchise and he played his role well by striking the ball at a rate of 176.67. He also picked 2 wickets playing for the now defunct franchise.

After the franchise’s exit from IPL, Luke went unsold in IPL 2014 auction and never played an IPL game again. Due to injury he left England&#8217;s T20 World Cup campaign in the middle of the 2014 edition and never played for his international side again. Currently Luke is representing Sussex in the Vitality T20 Blast.

Raiphi Gomez was bought by Pune Warriors in the auction ahead of IPL 2012 due to his consistent performances for the Kochi Tuskers Kerala in the 4th edition of the league. In his 2 years stint with the franchise the Kerala allrounder just played 2 matches for the team.

Raiphi got a chance to bat only once and he scored 4 not out in his lone innings for the franchise. He also bowled an over but didn’t pick a wicket in those 6 balls. In total, Raiphi played 13 IPL games and scored 50 runs at a strike rate of 98.04. He picked 5 wickets at an economy of 8.

Later, due to his inconsistent performances in the league he went unsold and never played an IPL match again in his career. In December 2018 he was selected for the cricket association of Pondicherry as a guest player in Ranji Trophy.

The South African allrounder was bought by the Pune based franchise ahead of its first season. He was part of the squad for all the three years and proved to be worthy and handy for his side. Although the allrounder disappointed with the bat he made a fairly good performance with the ball in his hand.

In his three years stint with the franchise, Parnell played 18 matches and picked 20 wickets at an average of 23.90. He scored just 61 runs in his 11 innings at an average of 7.62 with the bat.

Later he was bought by the Delhi based franchise ahead of IPL 2014 where he played his last match in the league and never has been a part of the cash rich league again. He retired from International cricket in the year 2018 and signed a Kolpak deal with Worcestershire later that year.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was a part of the RCB franchise from 2009 to 2010 but never played a match for the side. He was picked as an uncapped Indian player by the newest- Pune Warriors India and was one of the shining lights in the franchise.

Meerut’s right-arm pacer was an integral part of the team for all the three years and played 31 matches for the franchise. He picked up 24 wickets with an average of 30 playing for the Pune based franchise. He also scored 93 runs for the team.

Later, he was bought by Sunrisers franchise ahead of the IPL 2014 and he won the Purple Cap twice playing for the Hyderabad based franchise. He played an important role in the franchise’s 2016 IPL triumph and is a key member of the franchise till now. He has also been leading the Indian pace department in limited overs cricket along with Jasprit Bumrah.

Ali Murtaza was one of those players, who had to be banned for a while, for opting to play the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL). After his ban was lifted, he played for Mumbai Indians for two years in the IPL and later moved to PWI when the franchise bought him in the auction ahead of the 2011 edition.

Ali played 4 matches for the franchise and was wicketless in his first three games. He was given a chance in the franchise’s last game where he picked 3 wickets against Delhi team and played a vital role in team’s last win.

After PWI left the IPL, he went unsold in the next auction and never played an IPL game again. He is currently playing domestic cricket and was seen playing in the GCA T20 league last year.

Pune Warriors India was the third team for Dinda, who represented Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils before the Pune based franchise bought him in the 2012 auction. Dinda just played 6 matches for the franchise in 2012 due to some injury concerns.

But in 2013, he played all the 14 matches the franchise played. He led the pace attack of the franchise along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar. In total, Dinda played 20 matches for the now defunct franchise and picked 25 wickets at an average of 25.36.

Later Dinda was bought by RCB in IPL 2014 auction and played for two seasons with them. He played his last IPL match for Rising Pune SuperGiant in 2017 and went off the radar from there onwards. Dinda was a part of Bengal Ranji squad last year but was axed from the squad due to disciplinary reasons. He confirmed that he will play for a new team in this year&#8217;s Ranji Trophy.

The South African allrounder was bought by the Pune based franchise ahead of its first season. He was part of the squad for all the three years and proved to be worthy and handy for his side. Although the allrounder disappointed with the bat he made a fairly good performance with the ball in his hand.
In his three years stint with the franchise, Parnell played 18 matches and picked 20 wickets at an average of 23.90. He scored just 61 runs in his 11 innings at an average of 7.62 with the bat.
Later he was bought by the Delhi based franchise ahead of IPL 2014 where he played his last match in the league and never has been a part of the cash rich league again. He retired from International cricket in the year 2018 and signed a Kolpak deal with Worcestershire later that year.

<h3>9. Bhuvneshwar Kumar</h3>

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was a part of the RCB franchise from 2009 to 2010 but never played a match for the side. He was picked as an uncapped Indian player by the newest- Pune Warriors India and was one of the shining lights in the franchise.
Meerut’s right-arm pacer was an integral part of the team for all the three years and played 31 matches for the franchise. He picked up 24 wickets with an average of 30 playing for the Pune based franchise. He also scored 93 runs for the team.
Later, he was bought by Sunrisers franchise ahead of the IPL 2014 and he won the Purple Cap twice playing for the Hyderabad based franchise. He played an important role in the franchise’s 2016 IPL triumph and is a key member of the franchise till now. He has also been leading the Indian pace department in limited overs cricket along with Jasprit Bumrah.

<h3>10. Ali Murtaza</h3>

Ali Murtaza was one of those players, who had to be banned for a while, for opting to play the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL). After his ban was lifted, he played for Mumbai Indians for two years in the IPL and later moved to PWI when the franchise bought him in the auction ahead of the 2011 edition.
Ali played 4 matches for the franchise and was wicketless in his first three games. He was given a chance in the franchise’s last game where he picked 3 wickets against Delhi team and played a vital role in team’s last win.
After PWI left the IPL, he went unsold in the next auction and never played an IPL game again. He is currently playing domestic cricket and was seen playing in the GCA T20 league last year.

Pune Warriors India was the third team for Dinda, who represented Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils before the Pune based franchise bought him in the 2012 auction. Dinda just played 6 matches for the franchise in 2012 due to some injury concerns.
But in 2013, he played all the 14 matches the franchise played. He led the pace attack of the franchise along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar. In total, Dinda played 20 matches for the now defunct franchise and picked 25 wickets at an average of 25.36.
Later Dinda was bought by RCB in IPL 2014 auction and played for two seasons with them. He played his last IPL match for Rising Pune SuperGiant in 2017 and went off the radar from there onwards. Dinda was a part of Bengal Ranji squad last year but was axed from the squad due to disciplinary reasons. He confirmed that he will play for a new team in this year’s Ranji Trophy.&nbsp;

Back in 2011, along with Kochi Tuskers Kerala, the Pune based franchise Pune Warriors India joined the other eight teams in the IPL which were part of the cash-rich league earlier. The franchise added some international stars to their squad namely Yuvraj Singh, Mitchell Marsh, Angelo Mathews and many more.
With the strong squad they had, PWI looked like a strong contender for the trophy but managed to win only 12 matches in 3 seasons, failing in all the editions they participated. However, the Pune based franchise withdrew from the IPL over financial differences with BCCI back in May, 2013.
Pune Warriors India played a total of 46 matches in their 3 years stint in the IPL. They won only 12 matches and in the 3 seasons they were placed at second-last twice and once at last place in the points table. They played their last match against Delhi Daredevils in 2013 and never played again in IPL.

<h3>1. Robin Uthappa</h3>

After playing the finisher&#8217;s role for RCB in 2010, Robin Uthappa was bought by PWI for 2011 IPL where he finished as the top scorer for the franchise ever. He evolved as an apt T20 player scoring tons of IPL runs for the franchises so far. Despite his consistent performances in IPL, Robin managed to play only 13 T20Is and 46 ODI’s for India.
Despite the team’s poor shows, he became the team&#8217;s lead batsman and scored as many as 1103 runs in 46 matches for the now-defunct franchise. He also kept the wickets for the side in all the three seasons from 2011 to 2013.
After PWI left IPL he was bought by KKR for IPL2014 where he bagged the Orange Cap with 660 runs and played a crucial role in winning the second trophy for the team. Due to his poor form in last year’s IPL he was released by KKR and was bought by RR for this year’s IPL.

Cricket Australia’s limited overs skipper is one of the vital members of the squad in their last season in IPL. He used to be an explosive batsman of the now defunct team and was a part of the playing XI in all the 14 matches the franchise played that season.
In the 14 matches he played for the Pune Based franchise, Finch scored a whopping 456 runs at an average of 32.57 and with a strike rate of 135.71. He also bowled four overs for the franchise picking up a wicket at an economy of 12.25.
After the franchise’s exit from the IPL, Finch played for four other teams namely Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Lions and Kings XI Punjab but still his performance for the Pune franchise tops the list. Currently he is in a great touch playing for his nation and is expected to open batting for <a href="https://www.facebook.com/crictracker/photos/a.643089012388490/3897616803602345" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Royal Challengers Bangalore</a> in IPL 2020.

Manish Pandey is the first Indian batsman to score a century in the history of the league. He achieved that feat playing for the Bangalore based franchise back in 2009. Due to his consistent performances for RCB, he was bought by Pune Warriors India in the auction ahead of the 2011 IPL.
Manish was an integral part of the franchise from 2011 to 2013 and played 27 matches for the team in those 3 years. He scored 525 runs at an average of 23.86 and with a strike rate of 111.23 for the now defunct franchise. In addition to his batting skills Manish is an excellent fielder and took 14 catches in the process.
Manish was later bought by KKR in the 2014 IPL auction and he later played an important role in the franchise’s second IPL win by scoring 94 runs in the final against KXIP. Currently, Pandey is becoming an integral part of the national limited-overs team and is all set to represent SRH in IPL 2020.

<h3>4. Yuvraj Singh</h3>

Yuvraj Singh was one of India’s biggest match-winners in white ball cricket and especially in T20 cricket he was the backbone of the team with his attacking stroke play. After playing for KXIP for three years, Yuvraj was bought by the Pune based franchise and was made the captain of the team in 2011.
He didn’t play any match in the 2012 edition as he was battling cancer at that time. In the other 2 seasons he was with the franchise, Yuvraj played 27 matches and scored 581 runs at an average of 26.4. He also picked 15 wickets with the ball in his hand.
Later Yuvraj played for RCB, DC, SRH, KXIP and MI before retiring from international cricket last year. He also holds the record for the highest bid for a player in the auction, the record he achieved when the Delhi franchise bought him for INR 16 crores in 2015. Currently, Yuvraj has been playing foreign T20 leagues. 

<h3>5. Angelo Mathews</h3>

The <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/bangladesh-announce-27-member-preliminary-squad-for-sri-lanka-tour-mahmudullah-and-mustafizur-rahman-included/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Sri Lankan</a> all-rounder was bought by the Pune based franchise ahead of the 2011 edition of the league. But he didn’t play the whole season due to some injury issues. But in 2012, Mathews made his debut for the Pune based franchise and also captained the team on several occasions in the absence of Yuvraj.
Mathews didn’t perform up to the mark for the franchise as he scored only 299 runs at an average of 21.35 in 20 matches he played for the now defunct team. He also took 12 wickets while donning Pune&#8217;s jersey.
Due to his poor show in the 2013 season, Mathews went unsold in the 2014 auction. But he continued to perform for his international team and became captain of his side. Later he played for the Delhi based franchise in the IPL up to 2017. He is still an integral part of the Sri Lankan team and was also part of last year’s World Cup squad.

<h3>6. Luke Wright</h3>

Luke Wright was a replacement for Tim Paine for the Pune based franchise ahead of IPL 2012 as the team was impressed with his all-round skills. He remained part of the squad for the next 2 years and played 7 matches in those years.
In the 7 matches he played for the franchise, he scored 106 runs at an average of 21.2. He was used as a finisher by the franchise and he played his role well by striking the ball at a rate of 176.67. He also picked 2 wickets playing for the now defunct franchise.
After the franchise’s exit from IPL, Luke went unsold in IPL 2014 auction and never played an IPL game again. Due to injury he left England&#8217;s T20 World Cup campaign in the middle of the 2014 edition and never played for his international side again. Currently Luke is representing Sussex in the Vitality T20 Blast.

Raiphi Gomez was bought by Pune Warriors in the auction ahead of IPL 2012 due to his consistent performances for the Kochi Tuskers Kerala in the 4th edition of the league. In his 2 years stint with the franchise the Kerala allrounder just played 2 matches for the team.
