Admirers of fairs and festivals, the state is not behind in indulging in various sports, especially cricket. The soil of Punjab has given the team India many national and international sportsmen and all of them have two things in common- zeal for life and larger than life attitude. CAP will be providing quality service to the young cricketers of Punjab by preparing them for selections at the district and state level. Across India, 21 students have already been selected for district & state level matches from CAP centres. The academy will employ state-of-the-art coaching techniques to teach and develop the budding cricketers in Punjab.
Cricket Academy of Pathans (CAP) is currently present in thirteen cities- Ludhiana, Delhi, Kota, Patna, Morbi, Noida, Bengaluru, Rajkot, Surat, Sonipat, Port Blair, Raipur and Lunawada and aims to provide world-class coaching and training infrastructure to the young children. Australian cricketing legend Mr. Greg Chappell, former coach of the Indian Cricket team and Mr. Cameron Tradell, renowned coach from Australia have designed the curriculum for the coaching program.
In the past, big corporate houses like Ola Cabs, Oppo Mobiles and even the Indian Army have sponsored over 26 children to train at CAP centres. Various other Corporates, NGOs and Social organizations are also willing to work with CAP to organize scholarship programs for talented youngsters.
A massive investment
CAP has pledged to invest INR 2 crores along with partners for further expansion across India in various cities of Gujarat, Punjab, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. With a group of select, qualified expert coaches, the Pathan brothers, Irfan and Yusuf, had launched these academies over 2 years ago to reciprocate their love for the game.
In the words of Mr. Irfan Pathan- Director, Cricket Academy of Pathans, “Punjab is the talent hub of India as the cricketers from Punjab are noticed to have an inimitable strength. Our motto to launch in Punjab is to walk an extra mile to polish the raw talent from all across the state and offer them impeccable infrastructure and carefully watch their performance.” The academy provides coaching for kids to play cricket as well as those who aspire to become coaches in order to understand the technicalities of the game and in return execute their learned skills on kids. Also, the academy focuses on nutrition, psychology and the overall physical development of the students.
Cricket Academy of Pathans (CAP) has tied up with UK based Cricket technology partner- Pitch Vision to track students’ performance in real time via a cutting-edge technology program. This technology closes the gap between the Pathan brothers, coaches and the students.
According to Mr. Harmeet Vasdev, Managing Director, CAP- “CAP plans to expand its operations to all major cities in Punjab including Chandigarh, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Patiala and Pathankot, to give an opportunity to all the budding cricketers who love the sport and need access to world-class coaching infrastructure. Punjab has a massive pool of talent and most of it lies in these cities. We are excited about the prospect of utilizing the talent to produce district, state and national level cricketers from the state.”
Cricket Academy of Pathans (CAP) plans to open 20 more new academies in various cities of India by mid next year, with openings soon in Mainpuri, Shrirampur, Mysore, Indore, Bhopal, Pathankot, Jalandhar, and Amritsar.
