Qatar T10 League, 2019: All you need to know about the venue hosting the tournament
Here are all the details of the venue hosting the 2019 Qatar T10 League.
The first-ever T10 event will be hosted by Qatar this month as the inaugural edition of the Qatar T10 League is set to begin on December 7th. The tournament will be played until December 16th and a total of 18 matches will be played in this period including the three knockouts. A total of six teams will be part of this event namely – Falcon Hunters, Pearl Gladiators, Heat Stormers, Flying Oryx, Desert Riders and Swift Gallopers.
All the 18 matches of the tournament will be hosted by the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha. This venue was inaugurated in 2013 with a capacity of over 13000. This is also referred with the name of Asian Town Stadium. A maximum of two games will be played every day during this event; all between 6.30 PM and 11 PM local time. This is also the only ground in Qatar that hosted an International fixture in both Men’s and Women’s cricket.

Timings of the match – 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM; 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM and 9 PM to 11 PM [Qatar Local Time]
Capacity – 13,000+ approx.
Men’s International Twenty20s:
Number of matches: 6
Average first innings score: 148
Record of chasing teams: Won – 4, Lost – 1, Tied – 1
This venue has hosted two Men’s T20I series thus far, one between Qatar and Kuwait while the other between Qatar and Jersey. The home team defeated Kuwait by 2-1 margin during the series played here in July earlier this year. The series witnessed a 204-run chase and also a tied match where a Super over was required. Later in October, Jersey suffered a 0-3 series defeat.
Women’s International Twenty20s:

Average first innings score: 97
Record of chasing teams: Won – 5, Lost – 2
The West End Park hosted T20Is in 2014 itself when Pakistan Women hosted Ireland Women and South Africa Women in a Triangular series. The tournament was referred with the name of PCB Qatar Women’s 20-over Tri-series. The Pakistan team won the tournament after defeating the South Africans by 7 wickets in the final.
Women’s One-Day Internationals:
Number of matches: 6 (Excluding one abandoned match)
Average first innings score: 108
Record of chasing teams: Won – 5, Lost – 1
Prior to the T20I Tri-series, the three teams Pakistan-Ireland-South Africa were involved in a Women’s ODI Tri-series named PCB Qatar Women’s 50-over Tri-series. One of the six matches in the round-robin stage was washed out without a toss. South Africa Women were victorious in this tournament as they defeated Pakistan team in the final by four wickets.
