Quetta Gladiators (QUE) and Peshawar Zalmi (PES) lock horns in match no. nine of the ongoing eighth season of the PSL 2023 on Monday, February 20 at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi. Both sides will meet again in match no 25 on Wednesday at the Pindi Club Ground in Rawalpindi.
Babar Azam‘s Peshawar Zalmi side started off the campaign in a good way by winning their first encounter. They won by two runs against Karachi Kings and faced defeat at the hands of Multan Sultans by a margin of 56 runs. With two points and a net run rate of -1.350, they are placed in the fifth position on the table. (All scenarios till Match no. sixth)
On the other hand, the Sarfaraz Ahmed-led Quetta have played two matches in the tournament so far. They lost their first game against Multan Sultans by a nine-wicket margin but bounced back against Karachi kings and won by six runs. With two points and a NRR of -1.199, they are below Islamabad United in the fourth position on the table. (All scenarios till Match no. Six)
Talking about Head-to-Head contests, both sides have met each other 19 times in the history of PSL with Peshawar dominating with eleven victories as compared to Quetta's eight wins.

Kamran Akmal has smashed the most runs (459) in these fixtures followed by Sarfraz Ahmed (408) and Shane Watson (299). In terms of wickets, Wahab Riaz has 34 wickets followed by Mohammad Nawaz with 25 and Mohammad Hasnain and Hasan Ali with 12 wickets each.
Both sides last met in match no.22 in 2022 when Peshawar Zalmi won by a margin of 24 runs. Shoaib Malik 58 off 41 and Hussain Talat 51 off 31 helped Peshawar reach a total of 185/7.
