Quinton de Kock likely to join Peshawar Zalmi for PSL 3

South African wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock is a precious commodity for every team. Not only a good opener but he is a superb wicketkeeper as well. Hence, the demand of this Protean assassin is very high in any franchise based T20 league across the globe. The Delhi Daredevils opener in the Indian Premier League is closing in on signing up with Pakistan Super League (PSL) team Peshawar Zalmi.

De Kock is also the captain of Benoni, the team that’ll feature in the recently announced Global T20 League of South Africa. Benoni team is owned by Javed Afridi of Haier Group, who also owns the Peshawar franchise in PSL. Except for Afridi, Fawad Rana of Qatar Lubricants Company owns a team in both of the leagues. In PSL, he is the owner of Lahore Qalandars, while in the Global T20 League, he has bought the Durban team.

Windian all-rounder Darren Sammy led the Zalmi side in the last edition of PSL. The team from Peshawar is very consistent and is the current holders of the title. Their squad from the last edition boasted of some big overseas cricketers like Marlon Samuels, Darren Sammy, Eoin Morgan, Chris Jordan, Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal. The roster also boasts of some Pakistani national team players like Hasan Ali, Mohammad Hafeez, Junaid Khan and Haris Sohail.

Three Australian legends likely to feature in PSL 3

Three former Australian cricketers, who dominated the world circuit during their time, is very likely to feature in the third edition of Pakistan’s annual cricket extravaganza. Pacer Mitchell Johnson, former skipper Michael Clarke and Mr Cricket Mike Hussey are likely to strike a deal with the PSL franchises. The 2018 edition of PSL will feature six teams instead of five. Schon Group has bought the Multan team for a price of US$5.2 million per year becoming the most expensive team of the PSL.
