Dealing with Rashid Khan has become one of the biggest challenges for batsmen across the globe especially in the shortest format of the game. While the Afghanistan spin sensation is not the biggest turner of the ball, one cannot undermine his deceptive ability. Irrespective of conditions and oppositions, Rashid has tasted immense success in his short career so far.
He keeps the batsmen under constant pressure by bowling quickly through the air while maintaining a stump-to-stump line. The deadly googly in his armoury make him even more dangerous. However, nothing worked for the Afghanistan star when he was up against Quinton de Kock during the game between Durban Heat and Cape Town Blitz in the Mzansi Super League on Sunday.
In fact, it would be safe to say that de Kock toyed with Rashid. The leg-spinner was asked to bowl the 19th over when the scoreboard read a modest 127 for 5. With just 2 overs left, de Kock decided to go all out and Rashid found himself at the receiving end.
Rashid conceded two singles on the first two deliveries. However, it was just the silence before the storm as Quinton tore into him in the following three deliveries. The next three deliveries went for a four and two sixes. But that was not the only special thing about the onslaught. Each shot of his was played with a reverse stance.
Here is a clip of Quinton de Kock smashing Rashid Khan:

De Kock’s effort in vain
Rashid, however, had the last laugh as Heat beat Blitz by six wickets. Blitz, who are already assured of a place in the final, scored 162 161 for 6 in the allotted 20 overs. De Kock top-scored for the Cape Town-based outfit, smashing 86 not out off 55 deliveries. The knock was studded with 9 fours and three sixes.
However, de Kock’s effort went in vain as gifts from Morne van Wyk and Khaya Zondo helped Heat to a consolatory win.
