India were today officially crowned as the number ranked team in Tests after their victory over New Zealand in the second Test at Eden Gardens, Kolkata by 178 runs. This win was enough for India to overtake arch-rivals Pakistan in the rankings. After winning the first test at Kanpur, the Virat Kohli-led side equaled Pakistan at 111 points in the ranking charts. With this win, however, India has now clearly overtaken Pakistan.

India and Pakistan were been involved in a slight ranking contest since last months. Last month, India climbed to the top after beating West Indies. But, their stay at the top was brief as Pakistan took over the honors from them and became No. 1 in Tests for the first time ever since the current Test rankings were introduced in 2003, by virtue of their 2-2 draw against England.

India were expected to take over the top spot of the ranking by beating West Indies in the fourth Test of the series but that didn’t happen and Pakistan continued with its number one rankings. The fourth Test between India and West Indies at Port of Spain was rain affected on day one and because of poor arrangements, the outfield of the ground remained wet for rest of the four days, which led to no play and the result was a draw.

India. However, were confident of taking over again with a with long home Test season, which began with three-match series against New Zealand. According to numbers, India needed only ensure a 2-0 win to reclaim their rankings which they after winning at Kanpur and Kolkata.

Radio Pakistan, which is known as National Radio of Pakistan, without knowing that India has displaced Pakistan, tweeted that a resolution has been passed to felicitate Pakistan Cricket Team for achieving the number one Test rankings. Unfortunately, the resolution has been passed too late as the Pakistan cricket team is no more the top side in the world.

Just after that tweet from Radio Pakistan, Twitterati started trolling them as India are now the new number one Test team. Here are some hilarious tweets.
