Rahul Chahar joins Services for the upcoming Ranji Trophy season
Chahar made his Ranji Trophy debut last season for Rajasthan, he also represented his state in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Rahul Chahar, you might not remember him, he is the young leg-spinner who represented Rising Pune Supergiant in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Rahul was picked up by the Pune based franchise for 10 Lakhs. The Steven Smith led side had a good run in the IPL as they reached the final only to fall short by a run in the end. Rahul did not play a huge part but was in the squad and impressed with his bowling.
He played three games in all for the Supergiant and was sidelined for most of the part. The 17-year-old made his IPL debut for Kings XI Punjab. He has since been deployed to play for the Under-19 side and has grabbed the attention by picking up 10 wickets for the under 19 Indian team. He achieved the feat against England.
Chahar made his Ranji Trophy debut last season for Rajasthan, he also represented his state in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He did pretty well in both the competitions which yielded him a place in the India under 23s side. After such performances, his place in the Rajasthan team was nothing but fixed. However, the young leg-spinner had a change of mind.
Chahar to play for Services
The new Ranji Trophy season will begin from October 6th as all the states are gearing up for the tussle. Chahar, meanwhile, has decided to play for Services. He was assured a place in the Rajasthan team but the young man had a change of mind and has left his state team for good.
Services open their Ranji Trophy season with a game against Bengal in the capital. They will have a tough game as Bengal are a good side. Rajasthan, on the other hand, will play Jammu and Kashmir at the Sawaiman Singh Stadium in Jaipur. It will be interesting to see the young Chahar play for Services as this will be an important season for him.
