In the current times, the Indian team has been talked of as having some of the best fielders in the cricket world. The team began moulding itself into a potent fielding side under the leadership of MS Dhoni where Ravindra Jadeja has been top-notch in this category. The fielding skills of current skipper Kohli have also been applauded to show light to other players on the path of fielding. The likes of Manish Pandey, Shikhar Dhawan, and former cricketer Suresh Raina have displayed brilliance on the field.
KKR’s young pacer Kamlesh Nagarkoti is being seen as having some ace fielding skills and could be the next in line. He was snapped by Knight Riders in the year 2018 but couldn’t play the same edition and next one owing to some injuries. The youngster was part of the U19 World Cup, where he scalped nine wickets from 6 games. He also has two dismissals to his credit in the final, which helped the team lift the trophy. The young pacer is looking forward to the upcoming season of IPL.
KKR CEO Venky Mysore opened up in ‘The RK Show’ and said that Nagarkoti is being seen as one of the fastest with balls in domestic setup and is equally laudable on the field.
Nagarkoti is an unbelievable young kid: KKR CEO Venky Mysore
“One guy that we are completely looking forward to seeing in action is Kamlesh Nagarkoti. He is an unbelievable young kid, he is like a son to me. People who have seen him bowl, the pace at which he bowls, and he can really bat. But most importantly Rahul Dravid had told me that he is one of the best fielders going around in India. He would compete with the likes of Jadeja, which is a big statement from someone like Rahul Dravid,” Venky Mysore said.
Venky believes that having such a big statement from Dravid means a lot, and Nagarkoti can definitely show some class for Knight Riders in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League commencing next month in UAE. Under the captaincy of wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik, KKR will strive hard to lift their 3rd IPL trophy in the tournament.
