Graeme Swann, the former England spinner is reckoned as one of the best spinner that England has ever produced in its cricketing history. The off-spinner used to make batsmen dance against his spin bowling on his own terms. But, he recently revealed in a podcast that Rahul Dravid made him feel like an 11-year-old bowler when he was playing in international cricket.

The former England international played 66 Tests, 79 ODIs and 39 T20Is grabbing a total of 410 wickets across all the formats with the help of 17-four wicket and 18 five-wicket hauls. Moreover, he was also the part of England’s 2010 T20 World Cup-winning squad. Swann bid adieu to international cricket back in 2013.

Rahul Dravid is the best in the world, says Graeme Swann

The off-spinner bowled against many great batsmen like Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Sourav Ganguly and many more. But, he found it a lot difficult to bowl against the former Indian batsman Rahul Dravid, who is nicknamed as ‘The Wall’.

Recently, in a podcast, Swann said that bowling against Dravid was always a difficult task for him. The 41-year-old added that he bowled against former Indian batsman in county cricket and he was unbelievable. As per him, Dravid never used to get dismissed in county games.

He recited the fact that Rahul Dravid is the best in the world, who made him feel like an 11-year-old bowler with no skills and talent. “Rahul Dravid was a big one for me; I bowled against him in Kent, and he was unbelievable. I’ve never seen a better player in my life. He would never get out in a county game, and that’s Rahul Dravid, one of the best in the world, and he made me feel like an 11-year-old spinner,” Graeme Swann said in a podcast of Skysports.

The interesting fact about Swann is that he dismissed Gautam Gambhir and Rahul Dravid in the first over of his debut game in red-ball cricket for England. And, he also recalled that instance stating that he dismissed Dravid on a good ball. “I got him out, admittedly it was a great ball, but it would not have got Rahul Dravid out usually,” the former England spinner added.
