Rahul Dravid once again proves he's a gentleman par excellence
He was attending a science exhibition with his son Samit Dravid and a picture of him standing in the queue to watch the exhibition is winning the social media.
“If cricket is called ‘Gentlemen’s game’, it’s because of Rahul Dravid,” believe many cricket fans who admire the batting legend for his simplicity. No matter how much fame and respect he has acquired over the last two decades, the former Indian captain always prefers to stay grounded. He always is an inspiration for anyone wishes to take cricket as a career and there ain’t many better role models than him.
The second highest-run getter in International cricket for India, Rahul Dravid was once again being lauded for his humble, nonchalant attitude. He was attending a science exhibition with his son Samit Dravid and a picture of him standing in the queue to watch the exhibition is winning the social media.
The Twitter handle which posted the image wrote, “That’s Rahul Dravid in a queue with his kids at a science exhibition. No show off; no page 3 attitude; no celebrity airs; no “do you know who I am?” looks; Queueing just like any other normal parent… really admirable.”
Whilst the Twitter handle which posted that image has around 850 followers, the image was liked 14,000 times and retweeted closely 7,000 times. He was spotted wearing a simple T-Shirt and following the queue just like any other person, despite being one of the most admired and followed celebrities in the country. This attitude from him is what makes him a legend.
Rejected an honorary Degree earlier this year
The Bangalore University requested Rahul Dravid to accept an honorary degree from their University earlier this year, which the latter declined gracefully. As a token of gratitude for his mind-boggling contributions to the Indian side for over 15 years, the University was willing to grant him an Honorary Degree.
But the great man declined the offer as he wanted to accomplish a Degree by conducting some research in the field of sport, rather than accepting an Honorary. In the Bangalore University’s official press release, they confirmed this news and back then, the social media could do nothing but salute the legend’s attitude.
