India is fuming over the recent Pulwama attacks and the repercussions are clearly visible. After Cricket Club of India (CCI), covered Imran Khan’s portrait in its restaurant, the Punjab Cricket Association followed its footsteps and removed Pakistani cricketers’ pictures from the Stadium. The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) has done the same now as they have removed the photos of the cricketers belonging from Pakistan from the Sawai Mansingh Stadium’s photo gallery.

The protest is increasing with every passing day against the dastard attack on Thursday in Pulwama in Kashmir. DSport has stopped telecasting the ongoing edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in India while IMG Reliance, the production broadcaster of the tournament has also pulled out its support. This step has led to the PSL go off air with another Indian leading cricket website Cricbuzz stopping the coverage of the T20 League.

PCA removes 15 Pakistani cricketers’ pictures

Moreover, there are calls for India boycotting the World Cup match against Pakistan which is scheduled to take place on June 16 this year. Meanwhile, the cricket associations are showing their way of protesting the dastard attack of which Jaish-e-Mohammed has claimed the responsibility. According to India TV, after CCI and PCA, even RCA decided to take a stern step against the neighbouring country.

In PCA, the pictures of Pakistan Prime Minister and former cricketer Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Shahid Afridi and Wasim Akram among many have been removed. A total of 15 Pakistan cricketers’ pictures were there in inside the stadium at various points including in the galleries, long room, reception and ‘hall of fame’ area.

“As a humble step, the PCA has decided to show its solidarity with the families of martyrs of the Pulwama attack. There is so much anger in the nation against the heinous attack and PCA is no different in this,” the PCA treasurer Ajay Tyagi was quoted as saying by News 18.
