With the auction for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) just around the corner, all the franchises must have been busy making strategies in order to bolster their squads. The much-anticipated auction will take place on February 18 in Chennai. The eight franchises have already announced their lists of retained and released players.
And while the franchises are busy in making their strategies for the auction, the fans have also chipped in with their views regarding the players their teams should buy. Twitter has been flooded with messages from the fans in which they have advised their teams about the auction. Some fans have also been busy asking the franchises about the players they would like to buy in the auction.
Recently a fan came up with a similar query for Rajasthan Royals. It all started when the inaugural winners of the IPL took to Twitter to post few pictures of their star allrounder Jofra Archer training in Chennai ahead of the Test series between India and England. Sensing an opportunity to get his query cleared, the fan wrote: “What do you think who will you pick in the auction??”
Rajasthan Royals’ hilarious reply:
Rajasthan Royals’ Twitter handle is quite popular among the fans because of their humorous tweets and they came up with another one while responding to the fan’s tweet. Rajasthan Royals hilariously shared a picture of Bollywood actor Harman Baweja from his movie Victory and wrote that they will try to buy him. Released in 2009, Victory is a movie based on cricket.

Rajasthan Royals will be definitely looking to bolster their squad in the upcoming auction. They have not won the league since the inaugural season in 2008 and had a forgettable campaign last year. The Rajasthan-based franchise had finished at the bottom of the points table after winning just six of their 14 league games.
Last month, they sacked Steve Smith as their captain and also released him from the squad. Sanju Samson has been named as Royals’ new captain. The Royals would be desperately hoping that a change in captaincy would also change their fortunes.
