The outbreak of the Coronavirus has put some threats over the Indian Premier League (IPL) actually taking place this year. The tournament which was originally supposed to start on March 29 was suspended until April 15. However, with the growing number of cases of the Coronavirus victims in the country, it seems the tournament could be in jeopardy.
Considering the situation of the country it seems likely that the tournament could be called off. With travelling of foreign citizens been restricted, the chances of hosting the tournament have become very slim. But, it seems all this hasn’t broken the spirit of the IPL franchises.
Rajasthan Royals tried to spread awareness among the general public in a very unique way. On Tuesday, the franchise changed the profile picture of its official Twitter handle.
“Distanced today, stronger tomorrow”, RR changes its logo on Twitter
Before Tuesday, Rajasthan Royals had their official logo as the profile picture on their Twitter handle. The franchise decided to tweak the logo in a way that it could spread the message to everybody. The logo of the franchise had two capital R’s, one of which was inverted.
Until Tuesday, their logo had these two R’s joined. However, the new profile picture saw the two R’s getting separated and at a distance. Below the logo, a message was written which read, “Distanced today, stronger tomorrow.”

The caption of the tweet read,” Issued in public interest.” The new logo actually signified social distancing. The outbreak of coronavirus has led people to start distancing themselves from other individuals in the public area. This has been advised by even the World Health Organisation (WHO) to ensure that the virus is not spread.
The current logo of Rajasthan Royals was launched before IPL 2019. The change of logo had also accompanied by a change of jersey colour. The franchise had blue as their official colour on the jersey since the inception in 2008. The colour changed to pink in the 2019 edition. The change in the jersey colour also had to do with the fact that Jaipur, the city in which the franchise is based, is known as the Pink city of India.
Rajasthan Royals have won only one edition of the IPL and that was back in 2008. Under the leadership of Steve Smith, the franchise would hope to win this season if the tournament takes place.
