The Rajasthan Royals have been struck with a huge blow with England pacer Jofra Archer getting ruled out of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The fast bowler has been fighting with injuries recently and this time has sustained a low-grade stress fracture to his right elbow. He is expected to be out of action for three months while the IPL is set to commence on March 29.
However, the Royals have confirmed that they are in contact with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to help Archer secure a speedy recovery keeping the IPL in mind. Interestingly, no such statement has come from the ECB as of now and in their media release, they have stated it will take nearly three months for him to get completely fit.
Meanwhile, the Royals revealed their communication with the ECB in a tweet soon after Jofra Archer’s injury news went viral. “We’re working with the ECB to help @JofraArcher secure a speedy recovery, and still hope to see him in a Royals jersey this season,” the tweet read.

Jofra Archer’s injury-ridden career
According to ECB’s media release, Jofra Archer will now undergo rehabilitation with the board’s medical team and they are expecting for him to get fit for the three-match Test series against West Indies in June. “He will now commence an injury rehabilitation programme with the ECB medical team with a view to be ready for the international summer campaign starting in June against West Indies in a three-match Test series,” the release stated.
Meanwhile, Archer’s career has started to get affected due to injuries since the World Cup. Even in England’s ongoing South Africa tour, the pacer played only the first Test of the four-match series due to injury. There were reports of him breaking down as well in the nets ahead of the fourth Test when there were possibilities of Archer playing.
Before undergoing scans after returning from South Africa, Jofra Archer was also ruled out of the T20I series against the Proteas and him not being available for Sri Lanka tour and the IPL is a huge blow to England and the Rajasthan Royals.
