It’s August 22 and Indians all across the world are celebrating the festival of Raksha Bandhan. This special day is dedicated to the bond between a brother and a sister. Acknowledging the relationship, sisters tie a sacred thread or knot called Rakhi on their brothers’ wrists and get gifts. However, not all the sisters and brothers aren’t able to mark this occasion together due to several different reasons.
Several Mumbai Indians stars also fall in that same category. With the second leg of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 being less than a month away, the defending champions have kick-started their preparations in UAE. However, this also restricted many players from celebrating Raksha Bandhan with their sisters. Nevertheless, technology is advanced nowadays as several players sent their love to sisters via video calls.
Mumbai Indians stars shower love on sisters
In a video shared by MI’s official Instagram page, Arjun Tendulkar, Amolpreet Singh, Yudhvir Singh, and Aditya Tare were seen wishing their respective sisters on phone. While Arjun, son of Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, promised Sara to give dual gifts, Yudhvir was asked to make optimum utilization of the opportunity.“Separated by seas, bound by the sibling bond, Presenting heartwarming #OneFamily conversations on the occasion of #RakshaBandhan,” MI captioned the post.

The comment section of the post got flooded in no time as fans were left overwhelmed. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians are one of the teams to watch out for in the UAE leg of the competition. The Rohit Sharma-led side did a decent job earlier this year, winning four of their first seven games.
The defending champions were fourth in the team standings at the time of season suspension and would like to go further up. Notably, MI need four wins in their remaining seven-league stage matches to make a place in the playoffs without any hassle. Considering the way the Mumbai-based side has fared in the past few seasons, the task certainly doesn’t seem to be daunting.
Hence, all the other teams must beware of the five-time champions. Notably, the Men in Blue and Gold will resume their campaign against arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the first clash. Hence, fans must mark their dates.
