Sri Lankan all-rounder Ramith Rmabukwella has been reprimanded by the Sri Lankan authorities after a freak car accident in the early hours of the day in Colombo. Reports, as well as a few respected and vetted resources, go on to allege that the 25-year old rammed his car into a wall on the wee hours of Thursday. The report also goes on to read that he was the only occupant as well as the driver. He is expected to be presented in the civil court in 48 hours.

Rambukwella has been a part of the Sri Lankan team since his call-up to the national side in July 2013. He subsequently made his debut in the same series against New Zealand before being thrust back into the fringes of the domestic side once again. However, some impressive performances in the domestic circuit saw him make a comeback to the national team in 2016.

The 25-year old Ramith Rambukwella is an all-rounder who opens the batting is also a capable off-spin bowler who has 46 runs and a wicket to his name in t20 internationals for Sri Lanka. Rambukwella has a history of having various disciplinary problems at various levels of his cricketing career.

In July 2013, he was involved in somewhat of a bizarre incident on a flight, an incident that caused mild panic for those aboard the jet. He had allegedly attempted to open the cabin door whilst aboard the aircraft almost 35,000 feet above sea level. Further reports go on to suggest that the youngster had disciplinary issues dating back to his time with the Sri Lankan U19 side.

He is the second player to be booked for a driving offence in the same week. Earlier this week, Nuwan Kulasekara had been involved in a road accident that killed a 28-year-old person. However, later that evening, he was released on bail, after police admitted that it was not Kulasekara’s fault
