Ranji Trophy 2018-19, Round 2, Day 3: Round up

With another day of action left, all the teams tried hard to push for a victory on day 3 of the Round 2 of Ranji Trophy 2018. Two plate group games yielded a result on the third day. Uttarakhand’s Deepak Dhapola followed up his 7-wicket haul in the first innings with a 5-wicket haul in the second helping his side win the game by 8 wickets.

Pankaj Singh, Ishwar Chaudhary, Basant Mohanty, Aditya Sarwate and Swapnil Singh were the other bowlers who registered five-wicket hauls. Kerala’s Jalaj Saxena had a terrific outing in the game against Andhra. After being dismissed for 133, the batting all-rounder went on to pick 7 wickets so far putting the opposition in deep trouble.

Hyderabad’s Akshath Reddy was dismissed for 250 runs and in the same game, Tamil Nadu’s Abhinav Mukund is unbeaten on 101. There were quite a few centuries that were scored on the day. Vikram Solanki, Vishal Kushwah, Harpreet Singh, Nischal, Sharath BR, Dhruv Shorey, G Rahul Singh, Akhil Rajput, KB Pawan, Yogesh Nagar reached the triple-figure mark.

Although a few matches seem to be heading towards a draw, most games are expected to churn out a result on the final day of Round 2.
