Ranji Trophy 2019-20: Round 4, Day 4- Round-up

The cricket fans witnessed some brilliant conclusion of games on Day 4 in Round 4 of Ranji Trophy 2019-20. Jammu & Kashmir clinched a victory against Jharkhand by a huge margin of an innings and 27 runs. In the first innings, Jharkhand got dismissed after scoring a meagre score of 259 runs. In return, J&K came up with an epic reply and scored a total of 441 runs in the first innings.

It also helped them in taking a lead of 182 runs. But, Jharkhand failed to outclass the trail and collapsed against the bowling unit of J&K. Aquib Nabi took a five-wicket haul in the second innings and turned out to be the best bowler for his side.

Haryana registered a brilliant victory against Chattisgarh by 89 runs. On Day 3, the batting side was already struggling as they had lost their three wickets on a score of 33 in the second innings while chasing a target of 263 runs. The same story continued on Day 4 as their batsmen failed to get settled on the wicket against Haryana bowlers.

The errors committed by the batters in the second innings forced Chattisgarh to suffer a huge defeat against Haryana. For Haryana, Sumit Kumra took three wickets but Ajith Chahal was awarded Man of the Match for taking a five-wicket haul in the first innings.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad also thrashed Kerala by six wickets. Taking the innings forward on Day 4, Kerala could only add 16 runs to their scorecard before their side got dismissed in the second innings. In the second innings, Hyderabad were given a target of 155 runs to win the match and it turned out to be a cakewalk for them as they chased down the target at a loss of four wickets.

A valuable contribution from top-order batsman Tanmay Agarwal (32) and Akshath Reddy (32) followed by Jamalpur Mallikarjun (38) helped their side in registering a convincing win in the match. In the end, Kolla Sumanth was given Man of the match for playing a gutsy knock of 111 runs in the first innings for Hyderabad.
