6) Taskin Ahmed (BAN)

When it comes to the Asian continent, the game boasts of rich history with some legendary pacers over the years who have troubled batters across the globe. While spin plays a major role in the sub-continent, of late, Asian teams have produced some gun pacers, who are coming up the ranks with time. In the same vein, Bangladesh are one such team who have evolved themselves over time, which meant that they have found some skillful pacers in the process.
One such pacer who caught everyone’s eye is the lanky pacer, Taskin Ahmed. The man first made his mark through the 2013 edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), where he showed a glimpse of his capabilities with the ball. Thereafter, he picked up a knee injury and remained out of action for a year. What followed after this turned out to be beneficial for both the pacer and Bangladesh. He regularly kept bowling in the nets for the national team until he made his much-awaited debut in the T20 World Cup against Australia at home. Since then he has been a vital cog in other formats for the Bangla Tigers as well.
Now, speaking of his bowling exploits in the ongoing year, the right-arm pacer has been in ominous form with the ball. In 2023 so far, Taskin Ahmed has 29 victims to his name. His best performance came against Ireland in the first T20I at Chattogram. In the game, Ahmed took a four-wicket haul (4/16) which helped Bangladesh trump the visitors. In 2023, the 28-year-old averages 15.68 with an economy rate of 5.00 along with a decent strike rate of 18.8. Hence, in terms of the total number of wickets taken, he is at the helm in the Asian continent among all the bowlers.
