It would be safe to say that the inaugural ICC Trophy for the longest format of the game was a huge success. We got to see a lot of jaw dropping contests between various teams.

It wasn&#8217;t easy for anyone as every team had to give it their best in order to stand a chance to win this prestigious championship. Various batters from various teams produced some marvelous performances with the bat. It wasn&#8217;t easy for them as most of the matches seemed to be played on bowler friendly wickets.

A lot of batsmen produced some extraordinary knocks but only the best were able to consistently produce such throughout the tournament. Which batsmen will make into the list of the best batsmen of the tournament?

If there had to be a list of the most entertaining batsman of WTC 2019-2021 then Rishabh Pant would definitely top that list. While there were a few batsman who were more consistent than Pant, his impact is what makes him feature in this list. He is one of the main reasons why India even reached the WTC final.

Who would have imagined that a player who wasn&#8217;t even a regular in the XI would end up creating history at the Gabba! The Indian wicketkeeper was insanely dynamic and his counter attacking skills helped India win a lot of games. He scored 707 runs in 20 innings at an average and strike rate of 39.27 and 66.26.

He also scored a hundred and 4 fifties. While these numbers might not be as astonishing, his fifties in the last two Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy ensured India reach the WTC finals. His performances against England at home was again superb.

The Proteas blew hot and cold in this WTC cycle. However, if there was one batsman who consistently scored runs for them was Dean Elgar. Irrespective of the conditions, he always stood tall for South Africa.

It gets harder especially when you play in the testing conditions of South Africa. Elgar had to open the innings but he still ended up playing well more often than not. The Proteas opener ended up scoring 935 runs in 24 innings in the WTC 2019-2021.

He had an average and strike rate of 42.50 and 54.50 respectively. This included 2 amazing centuries. However, his century which came against India in India would have to be one of the best knocks in this WTC cycle.

It is safe to say that Ajinkya Rahane was the silent assassin of the WTC 2019-2021. Despite all the critics, He consistently performed well. It gets even better when you realize that he lead a second string Indian side to a series victory against the mighty Aussies at their own home.

However, despite his performance as a captain in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020/2021, it is his batting in this WTC cycle which deserves all the praise. India&#8217;s vice-captain in the longest format of the game scored 1159 runs in 30 innings at an average and strike rate of 42.92 and 46.84 respectively. This includes 3 superb centuries.

The classy batsman thus ended up scoring the fifth most runs in the WTC 2019-2021. He also scored the most number of runs for India in this cycle. Last but not the least, he also scored the highest score for India in the &#8220;Ultimate Test&#8221; i.e. the WTC final against New Zealand as he scored 49 in the first innings.

Although he had a lot of match winning performances in the WTC 2019-2021, his Headingley miracle is a tale which will be spoken for a really long time. It gets even better when you realize that he finds himself in this list despite being an all-rounder and having the responsibility of bowling as well. He ended up scoring the fourth most number of runs in this WTC cycle.

The English rockstar scored 1334 runs in 32 innings at an average and strike rate of 46.00 and 57.79 especially. This includes 4 centuries as well. If England are to do good in the next WTC, then he definitely has to be at his best once again.

When was the last time you saw a batsman from Pakistan in a &#8220;Best Batsman&#8221; list? Babar Azam has now become the face of Pakistan cricket. There were several instances in this WTC cycle where he single handedly carried his team.

This tournament was one to remember for the Kiwi captain. Not only did Kane Williamson lead his troops to the WTC title but he also lead from the front, like a true leader. The batting sensation was at his absolute best during the WTC 2019-2021.

While he did have a few poor outings with the bat, he ensured that he saved his best for the last. In the all important WTC final against India, he scored a sensational 49 and an unbeaten 52. He ensured that New Zealand win an ICC trophy after 2 decades.

Labuschagne consistently scored runs for Australia in every series and became one of their key players. It all started during the Ashes 2019 where he was the second best Aussie batsman after Steve Smith. It didn’t stop there as he went on to become the leading run scorer in Australia’s next three series’.
He scored 1675 runs in the WTC 2019-2021 at an average and strike rate of 72.82 and 55.85 respectively. He also scored 5 hundreds and one double hundred. With age and form on his side, it’s insanely scary as to what Labuschagne could achieve in the next WTC cycle.

It would be safe to say that the inaugural ICC Trophy for the longest format of the game was a huge success. We got to see a lot of jaw dropping contests between various teams.
It wasn&#8217;t easy for anyone as every team had to give it their best in order to stand a chance to win this prestigious championship. Various batters from various teams produced some marvelous performances with the bat. It wasn&#8217;t easy for them as most of the matches seemed to be played on bowler friendly wickets.
A lot of batsmen produced some extraordinary knocks but only the best were able to consistently produce such throughout the tournament. Which batsmen will make into the list of the best batsmen of the tournament?

<h3>10. Rishabh Pant</h3>

If there had to be a list of the most entertaining batsman of WTC 2019-2021 then Rishabh Pant would definitely top that list. While there were a few batsman who were more consistent than Pant, his impact is what makes him feature in this list. He is one of the main reasons why India even reached the WTC final.
Who would have imagined that a player who wasn&#8217;t even a regular in the XI would end up creating history at the Gabba! The Indian wicketkeeper was insanely dynamic and his counter attacking skills helped India win a lot of games. He scored 707 runs in 20 innings at an average and strike rate of 39.27 and 66.26.
He also scored a hundred and 4 fifties. While these numbers might not be as astonishing, his fifties in the last two Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy ensured India reach the WTC finals. His performances against England at home was again superb.

The Proteas blew hot and cold in this WTC cycle. However, if there was one batsman who consistently scored runs for them was Dean Elgar. Irrespective of the conditions, he always stood tall for South Africa.
It gets harder especially when you play in the testing conditions of South Africa. Elgar had to open the innings but he still ended up playing well more often than not. The Proteas opener ended up scoring 935 runs in 24 innings in the WTC 2019-2021.
He had an average and strike rate of 42.50 and 54.50 respectively. This included 2 amazing centuries. However, his century which came against India in India would have to be one of the best knocks in this WTC cycle.

It is safe to say that Ajinkya Rahane was the silent assassin of the WTC 2019-2021. Despite all the critics, He consistently performed well. It gets even better when you realize that he lead a second string Indian side to a series victory against the mighty Aussies at their own home.
However, despite his performance as a captain in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020/2021, it is his batting in this WTC cycle which deserves all the praise. India&#8217;s vice-captain in the longest format of the game scored 1159 runs in 30 innings at an average and strike rate of 42.92 and 46.84 respectively. This includes 3 superb centuries.
The classy batsman thus ended up scoring the fifth most runs in the WTC 2019-2021. He also scored the most number of runs for India in this cycle. Last but not the least, he also scored the highest score for India in the &#8220;Ultimate Test&#8221; i.e. the WTC final against New Zealand as he scored 49 in the first innings.
<h3>7. Ben Stokes</h3>

No matter how many fancy synonyms and words you find in the dictionary, they still wouldn&#8217;t be sufficient enough to praise Ben Stokes. In this WTC cycle, the English all-rounder ensured that he gets remember for his countless contributions. He was absolutely magnificent, to say the least.
Although he had a lot of match winning performances in the WTC 2019-2021, his Headingley miracle is a tale which will be spoken for a really long time. It gets even better when you realize that he finds himself in this list despite being an all-rounder and having the responsibility of bowling as well. He ended up scoring the fourth most number of runs in this WTC cycle.
The English rockstar scored 1334 runs in 32 innings at an average and strike rate of 46.00 and 57.79 especially. This includes 4 centuries as well. If England are to do good in the next WTC, then he definitely has to be at his best once again.

India&#8217;s &#8220;Hitman&#8221; made an amazing comeback in the longest version of the game. While many people felt that he isn&#8217;t suited for Tests, he not only proved them wrong but also turned out to be India&#8217;s best batsman in the WTC 2019-2021. Rohit Sharma looked good in almost every Test he played.
What makes his performance even better is the fact that he played as an opener and had to face the new ball whenever he came out to bat. It all started in India&#8217;s home series against South Africa where he kept on scoring runs for fun. After being relatively consistent in almost every series he played, he ended up scoring the most number of runs for India in WTC final against New Zealand.
Rohit Sharma scored 1094 runs in just 19 innings. He had an average and strike rate of 60.77 and 62.65 respectively. This includes 4 hundreds and a double hundred.

While many cricket pundits felt that Joe Root shouldn&#8217;t be included in the Fab 4 anymore, Root proved them wrong time and again. The English skipper turned out to be one of the best batsman of WTC 2019-2021 and consistently scored runs for England. It is safe to say that he carried England&#8217;s brittle top order all by himself.
The English batting machine scored the second most number of runs in this WTC cycle. He scored a whooping 1660 runs in 37 innings at an average and strike rate of 47.42 and 54.65 respectively. This includes 3 hundreds and 2 double hundreds.
It gets even better when you realize that the 2 double hundreds came in the subcontinent against India and Sri Lanka respectively. Root was one of the few batsman who played well at home as well as outside home. English fans would hope that he continues his good form

When was the last time you saw a batsman from Pakistan in a &#8220;Best Batsman&#8221; list? Babar Azam has now become the face of Pakistan cricket. There were several instances in this WTC cycle where he single handedly carried his team.
The Pakistani skipper was at his best and consistently scored runs irrespective of the conditions. He played 16 innings in this tournament and scored 932 runs. He had an average and strike rate of 66.57 and 64.14 respectively.
In the process he also ended up scoring 4 centuries. An important point to be noted is that he kept on chipping in with a lot of half centuries and was unlucky to not get to a century on a few occasions. All eyes will be on Pakistan&#8217;s gem in the next WTC cycle.

This tournament was one to remember for the Kiwi captain. Not only did Kane Williamson lead his troops to the WTC title but he also lead from the front, like a true leader. The batting sensation was at his absolute best during the WTC 2019-2021.
While he did have a few poor outings with the bat, he ensured that he saved his best for the last. In the all important WTC final against India, he scored a sensational 49 and an unbeaten 52. He ensured that New Zealand win an ICC trophy after 2 decades.
Williamson scored 918 runs in the 16 innings he played in this WTC cycle. He had an average and strike rate of 61.20 and 54.06 respectively. This included 2 hundreds and 2 double hundreds.

That wasn&#8217;t it as he was superb in the Aussie summer against New Zealand and India in 2020 and 2021 respectively. His standards are so freaking high that despite not being at his best and having a few bad games, he still ended up being the second best batsman of WTC 2019-2021.
