2021 was the year of <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/pcb-awards-2021-mohammad-rizwan-named-most-valuable-cricketer-babar-azam-adjudged-odi-cricketer-of-the-year-award/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mohammad Rizwan</a>. He was just brilliant. He scored 1915 runs in 2021 at an average of 56.32 across all formats. His most highlighted performances came in the the T20Is. Last year, he scored 1326 runs in T20Is which is the most by any batter in a calendar year. Earlier he was in and out from the Pakistani team but now he is a regular feature.
He has 972 runs in 19 Tests, 864 in 41 ODIs, and 1639 runs in 55 T20Is. He was a stand-out performer at the domestic level but luck was not his friend for a long time in his career. He came late but he came boldly. In a very short span of time, he has become the first-choice wicket-keeper of Pakistan replacing Sarfaraz Ahmed.
He is a technically sound wicket-keeper and his reaction speed is highly praised by everyone. He has made 52 dismissals in 19 Test matches, 38 dismissals in 41 ODIs, and 38 dismissals in 55 T20Is. His fortunes changed when he started opening the innings in T20Is. The new role was fully enjoyed by the Pakistani.
