Chris Gayle, the right-hand opener from West Indies is one of the most interesting and laudable personality in cricket. He has been the part of the tournament since its maiden season. The left-handed batsman is moving towards the fag end of his career. But there is a lot left in him as a professional cricketer. The Caribbean giant looks quite calm and composed on the field that has worked from him during the games.

As an opener, he has played many big knocks for his team in crucial games. Moreover, he has acclaimed several accolades in the shorter format like he holds the record of scoring a highest individual score during an IPL game where he played a magical unbeaten knock of 175* runs.

So far, he has played for Kolkata Knights, Royal Challengers Bangalore and the recent one is Kings XI Punjab. Gayle is quite an impactful player, who is the only player to have won back to back orange cap in 2011 and 2012 season. Overall he has played 125 games in which he has gathered 4484 runs with 28 fifties and six centuries. Hence, he can be ranked as the number one batsman in the history of the Indian Premier League.
