The 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to get underway on September in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Amidst the coronavirus pandemic, the T20 tournament is nearing it’s start date. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also released the full schedule for the league games. Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be locking horns in the opening match.

The IPL also released the IPL theme song named, ‘Aayenge Hum Wapas’ and it has already captured the imaginations of the supporters. The fans have been eagerly waiting for the commencement of the tournament and the recent developments will give them a lot to cheer for. However, the song seems to have ran into a controversy going into the T20 mega event.

A rapper named Krishna Kaul is set to take legal action against IPL for using his song as the new theme song. He has alleged the IPL of plagiarising his song, ‘Dekh Kaun Aya Waapas’. The rapper has around 10.8 thousand followers on Twitter. He also requested his fellow artists to make his post viral.

He took to Twitter and wrote, “Hey guys, @IPL has plagiarised my song “Dekh Kaun Aaya Waapas” and created “Aayenge Hum Wapas” as this year’s anthem without credit or consent. I request my fellow artists and friends on twitter to RT this tweet for awareness, they cannot get away with this. @DisneyPlusHS.”

On an Instagram story, he also pledged to take legal action, accusing the IPL for plagiarising his song.

In the meantime, the IPL rapper opened up on the matter. He was clear cut in saying that the song wasn’t his composition and that he only sung the song.

The singer took to his Instagram story and wrote, “Kind Attention, The Dream11 IPL Title Track “Ayenge Hum Wapas” is not composed and written by me. Only the voice behind this rap is mine! Thank You.”
