Rashid Khan and Danielle Wyatt enjoy Twitter pleasantries
The Afghans went on to cause yet another upset following their win over the Windies.
ICC 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier saw Afghanistan beat West Indies in the finals as both of them qualifying for the 2019 world cup in England. Rashid Khan, the 19-year-old mystery spinner became fastest ever to reach the 100-wicket milestone after he dismissed wicketkeeper-batsman Sai Hope.
It was Mohammed Shahzad who’s blistering half-century made the run chase an walk in the park for West Indies after teenager Mujeeb-ur-Rahman made sure that the likes of Gayle, Samuels, and Holder do not score heavily in the crucial game. Shahzad had played a similar inning against Ireland to give his side a quick start.
Notably, Afghanistan had lost first three matches of the tournament which had made their path to the World Cup a tougher one. Return of their regular skipper Asghar Stanikzai helped the side and they eventually piped the sides like Scotland and Zimbwabe to qualify for the World Cup 2019.
On the other hand, It was England women opener Danielle Wyatt who tormented the Indian bowling lineup on her way to her 2nd hundred in T20 Internationals. England Women were chasing a stiff target of 199 runs but Wyatt through her tremendous performance from the first over itself made sure the run chase was an easy one. England qualified for the finals of the tri-series which also involves Australia.
Waytt became only the 2nd women cricketers to have 2 T20 international tons to her name. Her first century came against Australia. She dedicated her 2nd ton to his dad.
Khan and Waytt exchange pleasantries on Twitter
Rashid Khan took to Twitter to congratulate the 26-year-old for the match-winning century. In return, Wyatt appreciated the bowler for his wish and congratulated the spinner for his 100 ODI wickets. Wyatt has been in the news in Indian media ever since she had asked Kohli to marry her on Twitter after his brilliant knock in a World T20 game. Khan too enjoys his time with Indians through the IPL where he will play for Sun Risers Hyderabad.
