Afghan Australian Youth Association (AAYA) is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers based in Sydney NSW. We aim to bring youth together from all different backgrounds and get them involved and participate in our programs and activities ranging from sports, cultural and educational programs.
By participating in our programs it brings about social change and positives for everyone including young people themselves and their communities. As part of our programs for the youth, we organised this community Meet and Greet evening function with Rashid Khan.
This event took place on Friday 5th January 2018 just prior to the Thunder vs Adelaide Strikers game. This event was held at Diamond Palace Reception in Sydney and up to 160 people, youngsters teenagers and community elders attended.
Rashid gave a wonderful speech inspiring the youth and thanking everyone as he was warmly welcomed. There was plenty of food and drinks for everyone, live music band. This was a free event organised by Afghan Australian Youth Association with the help of community and sponsors who made this event possible.
Rashid Khan as we know is playing in the Big Bash League (BBL) currently in Australia and making a big name for himself and making millions of Afghans proud around the world. AAYA is receiving lots of great reviews and Thankful messages from lots of fans from different multicultural backgrounds who took pictures and autographs.
Rashid Khan, as well as Mohammad Nabi from Afghanistan Cricket Team, are exciting the crowds in Australia playing in BBL 07. This is what the young people and communities around the world want to see and look up to, positive image of Afghanistan inspiring the youth leading to positive impact.
