Rashid Khan posts a heartwarming message for his late father
Rashid is gearing up for the only Test against Ireland.
Afghanistan star Rashid Khan has posted yet another heartwarming message for his father who passed away in December last year. Rashid looks like the most liveliest of characters on a cricket field. It does not matter whether he bowls, bats or fields, he loves to give it all on a cricket field. He is also known for his aggressive nature which is very much in show whenever he takes a wicket or appeals for the same.
But behind that lively and aggressive character lies a man who is very emotional and has a soft heart. The world saw this facet of Rashid’s personality when he suffered the huge personal loss when his father passed away. As soon as his father died, Rashid had taken to Twitter to state that he lost the most important person of his life. Fans and cricketers from across the globe had then flooded him with messages, showing solidarity with him in the tough times.
Showing the brave side of his personality, Rashid Khan had later refused to leave Adelaide Strikers midway through the Big Bash League and had gone on to play, receiving praise from all over. The leggie had gone on to finish the season as the team’s top wicket-taker, picking up 19 wickets in 14 games. He had later revealed how tough it was for him for him to deal with the tragedy.
“It was tough. I lost my Dad, the one who is very close to us and to my family,” Rashid had told reporters. “He really supported us – he struggled a lot while giving up (a lot) with how he (raised) us. He was always watching my games, he didn’t understand cricket a lot but he just was always asking my family how I had done.
Just a couple of months after that loss, Rashid has once again posted another heartwarming message for his father, writing, “I still get a lot of hugs but non of them are as warm as yours. I MISS YOU , #DAD #MissOurTalk”
Rashid gears up for historic moment
After helping Afghanistan make a mark in ODIs and T20Is, Rashid Khan is now all set to help his country make a name in Tests. Afghanistan, who made their Test debut against India last year, are gearing up to take on Ireland from March 15 and will be eyeing their first win in Tests. Ireland, who too made their Test debut last year, are also in search for their maiden win.
