Rashid Khan reveals why Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson and Babar Azam are world-class players
Rashid Khan will face Babar Azam in the PSL match between Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars on 17 June.
Afghanistan star leg-spinner Rashid Khan lavished praise on Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, and Babar Azam, stating that they are currently the best players and are a notch above the rest. There is no secret that the 22-year-old admires these players due to their incredible consistency.
All the three players are the captains for their international teams and the trio is ably shouldering the responsibility of scoring runs as well as managing the troops well. Over the years, Khan has bowled to these players and the 22-year-old feels they are great because they back their natural game to come good rather than relying on slam-bang approach of batting.
The leg-spinner also stated that the trio hit the ball through the ground more and are great at manipulating the field by playing risk-free cricket. While speaking to Cricket Pakistan, Khan elaborated on why Kohli, Williamson, and Azam are modern-day greats of the game.
“It is quite difficult (to compare the three batsmen) but no doubt Virat is a world-class player. Even Kane Williamson and Babar Azam are right up there. They know their limits and the shots they can play. The process with which they start and end their innings is very clear,” Rashid Khan opined.
Rashid Khan opens up on the challenge of bowling to Babar Azam in PSL
Khan is busy playing in the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The 22-year-old plays for Lahore Qalandars, who are soon to going to face Karachi Kings in an important match in the ongoing tournament.
Azam, who plays for the Kings, is one of their key players. If the Pakistan skipper does not score runs then Kings will face problems due to their struggling middle-order batters. Khan knows the threat posed by Azam and he is looking to bowl to his strengths to get rid of the right-hand batter.
“No doubt Babar is a world-class batsman. But as a bowler, my focus is always on backing my strengths. As a bowler, you do study the strong and weak points of the batsman you are bowling to. But at the same time, backing your my is important and that is bowling good line and length. If I do that then whoever the batsman is, I will get good results. I do watch their videos for planning but I believe in backing my own ability,” Rashid Khan signed off.
