Veteran Indian cricketer MS Dhoni came up with his best ever effort in the Indian Premier League history. The Chennai Super Kings skipper almost won the game for his side against the Kings XI Punjab in Mohali. It was unfortunate to see him end up on the losing side despite playing so well. He lost the game but certainly won the hearts yet again. The good wishes have come in flooding for the veteran cricketer. Among the many overawed by his knock is Rashid Khan.

The Afghanistani players have often showed their love for MS Dhoni with their messages and quotes. Hard hitting batsman Mohammad Shahzad has always been very vocal about his fandom for the former Indian cricketer. And now, with the special tweet that Rashid Khan has come up with, it is apparent that even he is an MS Dhoni fan. Rashid took to micro blogging site Twitter to laud the efforts of the CSK team.

Rashid, who is plying his trade for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the competition, hailed Dhoni as a champion. He remarked that it was indeed unfortunate that his knock went in vain and was in a losing cause. Despite the end result, the Afghanistani bowler admitted that the fans, including him, had a visual treat for sure. He called the innings to be ‘outstanding to watch’.

Here is what Rashid Khan tweeted:

“@msdhoni Bhai You are champion. hard Luck but that inning was absolutely Amazing and outstanding to Watch,” Rashid Khan wrote in his tweet.

The Chennai Super Kings were set a target of 197 to win in the match. They did not get off to a brisk start and hence, were always playing the catching game. Ambati Rayudu played a handy knock of 49 but it was MS Dhoni who got his side close to the win. Dhoni remained unbeaten on 79 off 44 deliveries with 6 fours and 5 sixes as CSK lost the game by just 4 runs. A last bal six from Dhoni was just not enough for his side to win the match on the day.
