Afghanistan leg spinner, Rashid Khan, has made giant strides in world cricket. The youngster is one of the promising young talents in the world cricket who are tipped to be the modern day greats in the future. He has been thoroughly impressive in the limited overs cricket, with T20s being his area of specialization. A couple of monthhs ago, his excellent run of form in the shortest format of the game saw him escalate to the top of the charts in the ICC T20I Bowlers’ rankings.

Now, Rashid Khan has added another feather to his cap. He was recently awarded the T20 Bowler of the Year at the Ceat Awards held in Mumbai, India. The awards night took place a day after the conclusion of the 2018 edition of the Indian Premier League. Interestingly, Rashid had a phenomenal time in the IPL this year as well.

He played for the Sunrisers Hyderabad and was very instrumental in taking his side to the finals of the tournament. Rashid finished the tournament as the second leading wicket taker. He scalped 21 wickets in the 17 matches that he played at an economy rate of just 6.73. His best performance came against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Qualifier 2.

At the CEAT Awards, Rashid received the prestigious honor from Tom Moody, his coach at the Sunrisers camp. Moody was quick to share a picture of the same on the micro blogging site Twitter. He also exclaimed that it was a privilege for him to hand over the award to the most deserving candidate.

Here is what Tom Moody posted:

“Privileged to present the very deserving @rashid.khan19 with @CEAT_CCR #T20 Bowler of the year! #CeatAwards2018 #Mumbai,” Moody wrote in his tweet.

Rashid responds

Rashid Khan was quick to acknowledge the tweet that Moody shared. He thanked Moody for his kind words and went on to reciprocate with mutual feelings. He praised Moody as a champion coach.

“Pleasure to take award from champion coach,” Rashid responded to the tweet.
