After India faced a defeat against the underdogs yesterday against Sri Lanka, Former Pakistan wicket keeper Rashid Latif sent a befitting reply to the comments from Virender Sehwag last night. After India won their match against their arch rivals Pakistan, Virender Sehwag took a cheap shot at Pakistan saying that India would forever continue their fatherly stature over Pakistan and Bangladesh when it comes to cricket.
When India defeated Bangladesh convincingly in the warm-up matches, Sehwag made a controversial statement that India would look to defeat their sons after defeating their grandsons. These tweets from Sehwag caused a lot of backlash amongst the neighbouring countries.
Soon after their win, India lost their match against Sri Lankans yesterday, Rashid Latif believes that Virender Sehwag received an apt reply. Rashid Latif further stated that even Pakistan has the right to talk rubbish about Indians. Rashid Latif was waiting for the right time to express his thoughts on the comments from Sehwag but was waiting for the right occasion to share them. Now that India lost against Sri Lanka, Latif thought it was the right time to talk about it.
Rashid Latif asked to learn etiquettes from the greats from India such as Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan and many others. He also wanted Sehwag to be wary of the fact that his hometown in Najafgarh comes from the name of Najaf Khan, who hails from Pakistan. Therefore, Rashid Latif was trying to make an ancestral connection between the two.The former Pakistan keeper said that India are bleeding after the loss to Sri Lanka but they don’t really know where the wounds are.
Virender Sehwag initiated a battle between him and Rashid by tweeting “Pote ke baad Bete. Koi Baat Nahi Beta, Well tried! Congratulations Bharat! #BaapBaapHotaHai #INDvPAK”. Latif later stated that coming out with such comments on each other is never a great gesture for the youth who is looking up to them.
Pote ke baad Bete. Koi baat nahi Beta, Well tried ! Congratulations Bharat !#BaapBaapHotaHai #INDvPAK
