Rashid Latif wants India and Pakistan to play in the Champions Trophy final

Virender Sehwag was tormented by the words of Rashid Latif recently after the latter posted a 15-minute long video only cursing the former Indian opener. Virender Sehwag is known for his taunts and has a knack of taking a dig at the opponents. He did the same after India beat Pakistan on June 4th.

Former Pakistan wicketkeeper who has also captained the Men in Green on a few occasions was not at all happy. In reply to Sehwag’s tweets,  Latif posted a video cursing Sehwag using inappropriate language. There was a huge backlash from the Indian fans and another Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary also posted a video in defence of the Indian legend.

There is a new development in the matter now. Apparently, Latif has posted another video and the backlash from the Indian fans might have taken a toll on him as he took a U-turn and praised Sehwag this time around.

Rashid Latif wishes for an Indo-Pak final

He expressed his desire that he wants India and Pakistan to play in the finals. He also thanked all fans for backing the Pakistani team after the defeat against India.

“I think this is the first time that a country which was one pre-partition has now three semi-finalists. The most viewership in cricket is in India and Pakistan. I want to thank everyone who supported Pakistan after the loss to India. But we need to learn from our mistake to beat England. I think we will reach the final and will play against India.

“What better than an India-Pakistan final. The whole world will see. Cricket is like power as most people understand, play and watch the game. It’s a proud moment for the sub-continent,” he said in his latest video.

He also talked about Manoj Tiwary and said he will not reply to him as he will only speak and won’t listen to anyone else. Latif also wants an Indo-Pak bilateral series and wishes that all the differences between the two countries come to an end.

“I am receiving a lot of messages that I should reply to Tiwary. I don’t watch, I only speak and people listen. We don’t want to break. We want to unite the two countries. There should be a bilateral series between the two nations. The Indian media and Pakistan media are happy about controversies. They think about hits. No one thinks about uniting,” he opined.
