I would rather pay to watch India play: Michael Clarke
Clarke believes attitude is the biggest difference between the two sides.
The former Australian captain Michael Clarke is very impressed with the Virat Kohli led Indian team in the ongoing ODI series against Australia. He expressed that he would pay to watch the Men in Blue play. Clarke is currently in India as a part of commentary team which also comprises of Sunil Gavaskar, Harsha Bhogle, Sanjay Manjrekar among others. India has already pocketed the series with a 5-wicket victory over the Aussies in Indore in the third ODI.
They are in the middle of a dream run in One-Day Internationals and is earning huge praises from all parts of the world. The Men in Blue have managed to surpass every challenge put in front of them by their opposition and have looked unbeatable in favourable conditions. Having said that, Virat Kohli & Co. romped into the final of ICC Champions Trophy in June which proves they are not the home bullies albeit only in ODIs.
Australia have been very timid
Michael Clarke, speaking to the Telegraph, denied to single out any current cricketer he’d pay to watch saying that it would invariably mean offending those who get left out. However, he cleared that he would take his wallet out to watch the Indian team play on any day. He also believed that the major element behind their performance is the attitude.
“Right now, the way India are playing, one would pay to watch them. Attitude… India have not been scared to lose in the ongoing ODIs, which is why they have won the first three matches and with that the series,” he said.
While when it came to attitude, Clarke also spoke about his national team. “In my book, Australia have been very timid,” he added.
The former cricketer has been always supportive of his team and still believes that the team can bounce back. But he was optimistic of an Aussie comeback in Kolkata after a loss in Chennai but they kept making same mistakes and eventually handed over the series to India. The fourth ODI is set to be played on Thursday in Bengaluru.
