2. Mumbai Indians- 9/10
Ambani’s team might have bagged the first spot on this list, had the tournament been conducted in India. The Mumbai-based team boasts of the best pace attack amongst all the teams in this edition of IPL. Consisting of both old-timers as well as the young blood, Mumbai’s bowling attack can still have a huge impact in the Emirates.
Jasprit Bumrah is arguably the best Indian bowler of the contemporary world. Along with him, Mumbai has the services of the Sri Lankan veteran Lasith Malinga as well as the Kiwis Trent Boult and Mitchell McClenaghan. Boult is one of the highest ranked bowlers in International cricket while McClenaghan has established himself as a T20 specialist in recent years.
The Indian-prong of the pace attack will be handled by Bumrah along with Hardik Pandya and Dhawal Kulkarni, Digvijay Deshmukh and Mohsin Khan. The spin attack will be led by last season’s discovery Rahul Chahar, duly assisted by Krunal Pandya, Jayant Yadav, Anukul Roy and Prince Balwant Rai. All-rounders like Pollard and Sherfane Rutherford can also double up as effective bowlers in times of need.
