Ravi Ashwin might not be playing for India at the moment, but taking cricket away from someone with Ashwin’s caliber is something not many can do. Thus, the 30-year old off-spinner, and perhaps even India’s best spinner in recent times with the plethora of wickets he has had in recent times is watching the India v England series in the comfort of his own home.

It was something spectacular as well, given the fact that Ashwin was perhaps one of the few people who actually picked up on what the England commentator Nasser Hussain had to say about the ordeal. In fact, Hussain is perhaps one of the most well-respected commentators on the tour at the moment.

Hussain had also previously done a video with incumbent India skipper Virat Kohli given the fact that the Indians had clinched a massive win in the series 4-0. He had also been critical of some of the things England had done in the series including that of the manner in which they approached the series as well.

However, while all this is well and truly there for all of us to see, Hussin was also more than a capable batsman during his day. He was also one of those whose stroke-filled innings would light up the series or perhaps even a Test match that was getting to be a bit dry or perhaps even borderline boring. His exit, however, was the backdrop of the 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup in South Africa wherein he stepped down from the captaincy post and subsequently made his way into retirement.

A tweet from Ashwin read: “You cannot not like the commentary of @nassercricket.Spot on with his observations and picking up nuances of the game’s evolution.#INDvENG
