Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is the newest entrant to the club of cricketers imitating the famous hook step from Allu Arjun’s movie Pushpa and gave it a cricketing twist. The steps from this movie have gone viral on the internet and several cricketers have followed the trend.
Ashwin took to Instagram to share the video of him performing the steps from the viral song Srivalli. It looked like Ashwin was having a practice session while doing the step. Also, there were cricket nets in the background which indicates that he recorded this video after a net session.
The steps from the movie Allu Arjun have been performed by several Indian and overseas cricketers. Hardik Pandya also did this same move along with his grandmother and uploaded the video on Instagram a few days ago. Ravindra Jadeja and Suresh Raina have also followed the trend while David Warner is also one cricketer who follows the viral trends in India and wasn’t behind in grooving on Srivalli.
The moves from this movie have also been picked by the players in the Bangladesh Premier League and a few cricketers including Dwayne Bravo and Shakib Al Hasan imitated Allu Arjun’s style after picking up a wicket. “Going with the trend is one way of putting it, I am just loving the trend @alluarjunonline super fun evening @srinivas._rajhamany ,” Ashwin wrote on Instagram.

Meanwhile, Ravi Ashwin was a part of the Indian team that traveled to South Africa to play three Test matches and three ODIs. It was not the best of the series for him as he failed to pick wickets and make runs with the bat. In the Test series, Ashwin managed to pick three wickets at an average of 60.67. The off-spinner took one wicket in two ODIs before being left out of the playing XI for the dead rubber third game.
India is scheduled to play three ODIs and as many T20Is against West Indies next month. The Indian selectors have already announced the team for the series and Ashwin is not the part of the squads reportedly due to an injury.
