Ravi Bopara feels he is lucky to play under Mashrafe Mortaza in BPL
Rangpur Riders will play their first match of the tournament on Saturday.
Bangladesh Premier League is all set to commence on November 4 as the local superstars along with the foreign players will fight it out in the middle. England cricketer Ravi Bopara has expressed his pleasure to play under the limited overs skipper of the Tigers Mashrafe Mortaza. They will be playing for Rangpur Riders franchise who are touted to have one of the most structured teams in the tournament.
Bopara has been playing in the T20 leagues around the world for quite some time now as he is not being considered for the national side anymore. The 32-year-old was involved in T20 Blast tournament of England and played for Essex. He looked in good form throughout the competition and scored runs at the strike rate of 138.70. However, he would love to contribute in the same way for his BPL franchise and enjoy his time in the country.
Mashrafe is a high-class cricketer
Ravi Bopara was all praise for Mortaza and deemed himself lucky to be playing under his captaincy. “Mashrafe is a kind of cricketer who play with his hundred percent in the field. No one in a team can sit aside lazily when a captain like him is around. Mashrafe is a high class cricketer; his bowling accuracy is quite incredible. He even bats well against spinners. To have a cricketer like him is a matter of luck for any team,” he said as quoted by bdcrictime.
The England cricketer also cleared that the team will be looking to win everything during the league. Rangpur Riders will travel to Sylhet for their first game on Saturday after training hard in Dhaka. “We haven’t come here to be defeated; we want to win everything. Many great professionals played in BPL. In the previous year, players like Sangakkara and Bravo adorned the tournament. Hope there will good competition this year also,” he added.
