Ravichandran Ashwin and Suresh Raina reveal interesting secrets of the dressing room

Right before Indian team sets sail to participate in Champions Trophy in England, all-rounders Ravichandran Ashwin and Suresh Raina give details of what goes on off the field. They revealed some very interesting facts about the team members, one of which was that the calm and composed MS Dhoni is an occasional prankster in the dressing room!

When the duo was asked who the most mischievous guy in the dressing room is, Ashwin singled out Raina as the one. But Raina had 4 names to give, which included Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, who are known pranksters but the two surprise players were Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni.

“Bhajjupa (Harbhajan Singh), Virat Kohli, Yuvipa (Yuvraj Singh) and MS Dhoni for sure,” Raina said. “Dhoni does it once in a year,” he added, evoking laughter.

Rohit Sharma is the laziest!

Asked who the laziest was, Ashwin said: “Without being diplomatic, it is very difficult to say who is lazy as we cannot afford to be lazy. If you are lazy, you will be sorted out. But Rohit (Sharma), it has to be when it comes to lazy elegance,” Ashwin said, as Raina nodded in approval.

They were then asked to reveal the first time they took autographs of their favourite cricketers Ashwin said, it was Sunil Gavaskar’s autograph first, and then those of Kapil Dev and Manoj Prabhakar.

“The first autograph I took of a cricketer was Sunny bhai’s (Sunil Gavaskar) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. I went to the commentary box. My second autograph was at the Chennai airport of Kapil Dev and Manoj Prabhakar. These are the first three autographs if cricketers,” he said.

For Raina, it was Mohammad Kaif’s autograph which was the first for him. And when it came to photographs, it was Brian Lara’s picture that Raina had clicked.

“When England U-19 team toured England, I clicked a photo of Brian Lara. That was my first photograph of a cricketer,” Raina said.

Ashwin hates the selfie!

Surprisingly, Ashwin is not too fond of the camera and the selfie. He finds it irritating when people go about clicking pictures of everything and anything.

“I have never turned down autographs. I have turned down photographs. To me, the worst invention is the camera phones. At breakfast tables, people asking selfies can put you off,” Ashwin said.

Virat the singer and Raina the dancer

Asked to name the best dancer in the Indian team is, Ashwin singled out Kohli and Raina, he said that the duo sing and dance very well in cultural events.

Raina quickly added: “Virat sings well and I dance well.”

They also revealed that when it comes to being messy, nobody can give competition to Ishant Sharma. “Ishant does not have too much to carry but is still the messiest player,” Ashwin said. Raina was quick to agree.

Another interesting revelation was about Ashish Nehra, who they said was always the last to board the team bus.

Ashwin also said that Virat Kohli maintains his beard really well, and Jadeja’s style of sporting the beard’s great!

“Virat’s beard is well maintained. Jaddu (Ravindra Jadeja) has a good sense of style with the beard at least.”

The most stylish players in the team according to Ashwin is Hardik Pandya, but Raina also liked to add Krunal to the same list.
