Ravichandran Ashwin equates Yuvraj Singh to a star footballer
When it comes to spin bowling Ravichandran Ashwin is one of the best bowlers in the world. Ashwin was in the form of his life against England in the Test series, he picked up 28 wickets at an average of 30.25 in 4 Tests which is phenomenal when you are talking Test cricket. He not only did the job with the ball but he also helped the Indian team with his bat with crucial runs when needed.
He scored 306 runs at an average of 43.71 hitting four half centuries at some crucial times in the series. He was magnificent all around. He has done wonders for India on the field but recently Ravi Ashwin got a bit candid while talking to BCCI.tv. There were a set of rapid fire questions which Ashwin had to answer and he did beautifully well. He was asked about his autobiography and he said “If I ever decide to write a book it would be titled ‘out of my comfort zone’.”
“The dialogue that I love the most is from the movie 3 Idiots which says ‘you have to be eligible for success’,” answered Ashwin. The spinner was asked to compare Indian cricketers to the stars of the footballing world. “Yuvraj Singh is Fernando Torres who sticks around the D and rise to get a header in,” said Ashwin.
When he was asked who he resembles he surprisingly mentioned a former Arsenal player, he said, “I think Andrey Arshavin resembles me, not in terms of looks but names probably,” exclaimed Ashwin.

Very recently Indian skipper Virat Kohli had said that he would want to impart Portugal star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo’s work ethics and Ashwin thinks they are pretty similar. “Virat Kohli I think is Cristiano Ronaldo. MS Dhoni is (similar to) Lionel Messi- in terms of character and the calmness that he exhibits,” answered Ashwin when he was asked about the captains he has played under. It is seldom that Ashwin gets cheeky in front of the camera and he does not disappoint when he does.
