Smartphone powerhouse Xiaomi on December 1 launched its new product, Redmi 5A in India after it was revealed in China earlier in October. While the phone has taken the market by a storm since its launch, it has earned a new fan in Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. The offie, who is an active social media user and is known for his witty posts took to Twitter to compliment the new smartphone.

The 31-year-old took to his Twitter and posted, “This ain’t a googly or the wrong one. Redmi 5A is nothing but #DeshKaSmartphone”. However, the reactions that Ashwin received wasn’t exactly what he had hoped for. The post attracted a lot of eyes and the Indian Twiterrati did not leave any stone unturned to troll Ashwin. Some of the replies which followed were nothing short of hilarious.

You can see the reactions below

Ashwin will not play the limited-overs leg against Sri Lanka

The Indian spinner, of late, has enjoyed a good form. And he celebrated it with a new milestone after claiming his 300th scalp in the second Test against Sri Lanka at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur. Sri Lanka’s Lahiru Gamage was his 300th victim and with that, Ashwin broke Australian pace legend Dennis Lillee‘s record to become the fastest bowler to pick up 300 wickets in the long and illustrious history of Test cricket.

Ashwin will continue his work in the upcoming 3rd Test against Sri Lanka to help extend India’s dominance over the Islanders and seal the series in the final Test that commences on December 2 at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi.

However, he will not feature in the limited-overs leg of the bilateral series against the neighbours after being left out of out of India’s squad by the national selectors. On the contrary, it will be a boon in disguise as Ashwin will get to spend some time away from the cut-throat nature of international cricket before boarding the plane to South Africa for the all-important Test series.
