Ravichandran Ashwin is surely having the time of his life. The Indian off spinner won the ‘Man of the Match’ award for his stupendous all-round performance with both the bat and ball in the second Test against England at Chennai. Ashwin took 8 wickets in the match, and also scored a century with the willow in India’s second innings as well.
Ashwin had even danced to the song ‘Vaathi Coming’ from ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay and ‘Makkal Selvan’ Vijay Sethupathi starrer Master during the second Test. And now, ‘Master fever’ has spread across the Indian side as well.
In a video that was recently released by Ashwin on his Instagram account, he and two of his team mates, Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav were seen dancing to the song. At the time of writing, the post has already garnered close to 5 Lakh likes. You can watch the video below.

Ravichandran Ashwin on the cusp of history
Coming to the cricketing side of things again, the Indian side has a very important Test match to win. The third Test at Ahmedabad will start on 24th February 2021, and with the series currently in a stalemate at 1-1, India would be looking to take a lead when the two teams square off in 4 days’ time.
Also, India compulsorily needs to win the series at least by a margin of 2-1(or better), if they have to qualify for the World Test Championship(WTC) Final. On the other hand, for England to qualify, they have to win the final 2 Test matches to book a ticket for the WTC final. If the series ends in a draw, or if England win only by a margin of 2-1, Australia will qualify for the summit clash.
On a personal front, Ashwin is also on the cusp of history as well. The off-spinner’s wickets tally currently stands at 394, and he needs 6 more wickets to touch the magic mark of 400 wickets in the whites for his country. And, given the way that he has bowled, it looks like Ashwin will achieve the feat in the third Test. It would indeed be a special feat, because he will become just the 4th Indian bowler in history to achieve the feat.
