Ravichandran Ashwin seeks help for electricity troubles at his home

No matter how the world uses social media platform Twitter but in India over the last couple of years, since the new government took over in the center Twitter has transformed into a medium of more effective governance. You have a genuine problem, and there is no one taking heed? Tweet to the Prime Minister’s Office and there is a certain possibility that they might come to your rescue.

Facing troubles while traveling with the Railways – Tweet to the minister and there is an immediate response; similar is the case with the External Affairs Ministry and even a few Chief Ministers and Police departments are active on the platform. So when Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was fed up of the electricity issues at his place in West Mambalam, Chennai he Tweeted asking help from the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB).

Ashwin posted a couple of Tweets which read – ‘Dear TNEB can u help me with my Electricity at home.I pay my taxes properly and promptly.For more than 10 years we don’t have a transformer.’

And – ‘The entire street hasn’t had a transformer for more than 10 years.Anyone out there who can help?’ It turns out they have been facing some serious electricity issues, may be fluctuating connections or power failure in his area and while they have been bringing it to the attention of the local electricity board authorities no action has been taking to change the situation.

So the cricketer considering the reach he has on Twitter decided to post a Tweet about the issue and see if it brings in the desired result since if not the local officials, the people who matter from the state government will definitely come to know about the case after Ashwin’s Tweet. It remains to be seen whether some progress has been made in the issue or not. But we are sure the offie will keep us updated about that as well.
