Ravichandran Ashwin talks about change in Virat Kohli after captaincy
He is still the same guy: Kohli on Ashwin
India’s ace off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, in a recent interview, revealed that there has not been much change in Virat Kohli after he was appointed as the captain of the Indian team. Ashwin stated that he is still pretty much the same passionate guy on the field who desperately wants to be on the winning side at any cost. He later commented about Chennai Superkings return in the IPL next season.
Virat Kohli, after enjoying a vacation in the US after a gruelling season, will be back in his whites leading the Indian side against Sri Lanka, who recently avoided humiliation against Zimbabwe by making a historic run-chase. Ashwin will be back where he is the most comfortable at, i.e., with the red cherry against the Island Nation.
“I don’t know how my answer will come out tomorrow (in the papers). The question is pretty funny. He has always been the same, even when he was not the skipper, he used to react like that from deep mid-wicket. Now he reacts like that from short midwicket. It has not changed massively. We all know that he is emotional and he loves to win for the country and that stems from the fact that he is very passionate about the game. Otherwise, he is still the same guy,” quoted Ravichandran Ashwin, according to an interview with Sportstar live.
Ash on return of CSK
He then compared the relegation of CSK with the unfortunate incident where Manchester United lost an entire team due to a plane crash back in the late 50’s.”CSK has been so consistent in the IPL and it was definitely missed. The two years of hiatus probably increases its value, like how did it for Manchester when the air crash happened. I don’t know whether the two can be compared, but surely people in Chennai are looking forward to it and fans across the country are also looking forward to it.” said the offie.
