India’s ace all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja caused a great furore on Twitter on February 8, Monday as he took to his official Twitter handle to celebrate his 12 glorious years in international cricket. On the memorable occasion, Jadeja posted a video which shared the glimpse of his journey in the cricket fraternity thus far with a piece of emotional background music.
Jadeja had initially hogged the limelight with his stunning performance in 2008-09 Ranji Trophy where he finished with 42 wickets and 739 runs. Seeing the all-rounder’s brilliant record in the domestic circuit, the selectors decided to hand him his maiden ODI cap in the match against Sri Lanka on February 8, 2009. The Jamnagar-born had a dream debut as he hammered 60* with the willow but in a losing cause.
Since then, the 32-year-old has emerged as an integral part of India’s line-up across all the formats. In his 12 years of cricket career thus far, Jadeja has amassed 2411 and 1954 runs in 168 ODIs and 51 Test matches respectively. He also has 220 Test and 188 ODI wickets under his belt. Along with that, the left-arm all-rounder has featured in 50 T20 Internationals scoring 217 runs and picking 39 scalps.
