Ravindra Jadeja deletes his viral comment on CSK's tweet, intensifies rumours of his rift with the franchise
The rumours of the rift became intense when Jadeja deleted all his Instagram posts related to CSK from the past two IPL seasons.
The Chennai Super Kings-Ravindra Jadeja saga has taken a new turn. The all-rounder’s recent activity on social media grabbed the attention of several users as the all-rounder deleted one of his tweets. CSK had shared a congratulatory post for Jadeja on February 4, 2022, when the all-rounder completed a decade with the franchise.
For the unversed, Jadeja recently deleted all posts related to CSK on his Instagram profile from the past two IPL seasons, which sparked rumours in the first place. Then he dismissed a media question that was targeted towards his association with CSK, which he dodged by saying he was focused on his performance for Team India currently. Then he shared a cryptic message on his social media, which added heat to the matter.
Speaking of his latest social media activity, Jadeja deleted one of his comments from CSK’s post. The franchise had shared a collage of Jadeja showing him in the yellow jersey in 2012 and 2022 and captioned it “10 Years of Super Jaddu” to show the decade-long run of the player. Reacting to the tweet, Jadeja replied in just four words saying “10 more to go”.
The CSK captaincy change midway in the IPL 2022 started the rumours
Some Twitter users noticed that Jadeja has deleted the reply to CSK’s posts, which made the fans believe that Jadeja will not be continuing with CSK any longer. Notably, the all-rounder was named former CSK skipper MS Dhoni’s successor this year, just a couple of days ahead of the start of the cash-rich event. But that move neither worked for CSK nor for Jadeja himself as the team lost one game after another and Jadeja could not continue to perform the way he was used to.
His form became a major concern for not just him, but also for the team, and as a result, the management decided to give back the captaincy to Dhoni so that Jadeja could focus on his game as he was at the peak of his career. But as Dhoni took over the role, Jadeja had to sit out due to an injury, and he was later ruled out of the remainder of the tournament.
The CSK management has continued to support Jadeja through their social media amidst the rumours of the rift. They keep sharing his pictures whenever he performs well in India games, but apparently, Jadeja has stopped following the franchise’s social media handle. There will surely be clarity on the matter ahead of the next IPL.
