Ravindra Jadeja‘s CSK teammate and veteran batter Ambati Rayudu has said that the southpaw has the potential to not only lead the four-time champions but also India. Giving further clarification on the same, Rayudu said that the Gujarat all-rounder will take guidance from MS Dhoni till he is around there and added that he is heading in the right direction.
Jadeja was appointed as the Chennai Super Kings’ new skipper just two days before the commencement of IPL 2022. However, the defending champions have had a forgettable season so far, having managed just two wins from seven matches, and they are languishing at the ninth position in the points table.
CSK will be very, very successful under Ravindra Jadeja: Ambati Rayudu
“Filling in MS Dhoni’s shoes, it’s never going to happen. But Jaddu definitely has it in him and under the guidance of Mahi Bhai and till the time he’s around on the ground with him, it will be very easy for him. Jadeja will become better. He has it in him to not only lead CSK but also India one day,” Rayudu was quoted as saying on CSK’s YouTube channel.
“There is the shift and it has to come. A lot of youngsters will continue to feature in CSK as the years go by. Having a young captain like Jadeja who has done it and seen it all, it will be great for them to be under him and have his confidence. They have the backing of the captain and I think he is going in the right direction and even the team is. CSK will be very, very successful under him,” he added.
