Indian commentator Sanjay Manjrekar is known to be a ruthless critique. He often gets behind the players and tries to demean them by spotting out their weaknesses and making unnecessary comments on air. While he might be decent enough a commentator, there often have been complaints of bias and going out of bounds from the fans for quite a while now. On this occasion, things got a little too serious as Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja himself lashed out at the former cricketer.

Recently, the 53-year-old had in an interaction quoted that he wasn’t a huge fan of bits and pieces players like Jadeja. Manjrekar said that he considered the southpaw as a pure bowler in Test cricket. However, for ODI cricket, he was not of the same opinion. He added that he would rather have a batsman and a spinner in 50-overs cricket.

“I am not a big fan of bits and pieces players which Jadeja is at this point of his career in 50-over cricket. In Test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in 50-over cricket, I would rather have a batsman and a spinner,” Manjrekar was quoted as saying on NDTV.

I’ve played twice the number of matches you’ve played

It didn’t quite go down well with Ravindra Jadeja. He decided to have a harsh go at Sanjay Manjrekar and absolutely lashed out at him in his tweet. The all-rounder reminded Manjrekar that he played twice the number of matches than he did. Furthermore, he asked Sanjay to learn to respect the people who have achieved something in their lives. He added that he heard enough of the verbal diarrhoea. Furthermore, he even tagged the Mumbai cricketer in his tweet.

“Still i have played twice the number of matches you have played and i m still playing. Learn to respect ppl who have achieved.i have heard enough of your verbal diarrhoea. @sanjaymanjrekar,” wrote Ravindra Jadeja.

Just for the sake of facts, the Saurashtra cricketer played has a total of 151 ODIs, 41 Tests and 40 T20Is for India thus far at the highest level. Sanjay Manjrekar, on the other hand, represented the ‘Men in Blue‘ in 37 Tests and 74 ODI matches.
