Ravindra Jadeja lifts the lid on what Virat told him after he shaved his beard

A few days ago, a picture taken before the game between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Lions was doing rounds on the internet. In the picture, the RCB skipper Virat Kohli was seen telling something to Gujarat’s Ravindra Jadeja and laughing his heart out.

Nobody knew what joke the two cricketers exchanged between one another until Jadeja himself revealed it. He finally lifted the lid on what Kohli told him that had them in splits. In an interview, Jadeja revealed what exactly Kohli told him during that funny conversation.

“The picture was taken right before the match with RCB, where Virat started calling me ‘Rajput’. He has nicknamed me that and I feel super proud when he addresses me with that name. Virat and I are like brothers and these fun conversations are a part of our relationship,” Jadeja told The Quint.

“Everyone in the dressing room looked the same, so I thought let’s try something different. Something that is unique. Once Anil Kumble walked up to me when I was sitting with my face down. He thought I was KL Rahul and started speaking in Kannada. Beards have created a lot of confusion in the team,”

Ever since Jadeja shaved off his beard, a new trend on social media called #breakthebeard (break the beard) started doing the rounds. Soon Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya joined the #breakthebeard bandwagon as they posted their clean shaved pictures on social media.

However, when Kohli was challenged to break his beard, the India and RCB captain took to Instagram to confirm that he has no plans of breaking his beard. Along with a picture, he wrote, “I am not breaking the beard yet”

To this, Virat’s girlfriend Anushka Sharma replied: “You cannot!”

Seems that Anushka is a fan of bearded men and will not let Virat shave his beard.

The current crop of Indian players has been sporting the bearded look for a long time now, we saw it throughout the home season as well. But Jadeja began the new trend of shaving the beard and a lot of cricketers are following suit.

Well, hopefully, Kumble will not mistake KL Rahul for Jadeja anymore!
