Gujarat Lions all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja could not help his side recover from the faltering start they had to the tenth season of the Indian Premier League, ruling them out of the tournament early. Jadeja has performed well on the field this time with as many as five direct-hit runouts in as many games.

Off the field, the all-rounder is known for his love for horses; in his Instagram account he regularly puts out photographs, at his farm and did it again. It was Jaddu who started the trend #BreakTheBeard on the photo-blogging platform, with Mumbai Indians all-rounder Hardik Pandya and captain Rohit Sharma following the trend. Also to follow the trend was fellow Gujarat Lions captain Suresh Raina.

Jadeja’s horse love

Apart from this, the 28-year-old’s Insta account is filled with photos of him and his horse, who he regularly visits during his off-time in the field. The left-arm spinner once again took to social media and uploaded a picture on his Instagram account that said, “not giving any response to me?bcoz i met him after a long time..?#horselove #truefriends #rajputboy.

The all-rounder is known for his horse-riding and his sword skills. He recently welcomed home a new horse named ‘Vaari’ into his farmhouse. Jaddu is now taking a break from cricket after his team failed to qualify for the playoffs. He was advised rest ahead of the start of the tenth edition of the IPL since he had been bowling tirelessly right through the Indian Test season.

Defending champions India will lock horns with Asian-rivals Pakistan and Sri Lanka before facing the stern test of Proteas led by Faf du Plessis in the Champions Trophy 2017. The team this year would be directed by the charismatic captain Virat Kohli, with the likes of Ishant Sharma, Murali Vijay and Dinesh Karthik missing out from the last edition of the tournament.

It would take some performance from the current Indian squad to take on the likes of the favourites England, South Africa and Australia going into one of the key tournaments.
