Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is known to be quite a character, several cricketers in the past have admitted that when he’s talking or telling you incidents it is tough to understand if it is true or he is making it up. He loves his horses, has a unique sword celebration every time he scores a fifty in Test cricket, maintains a moustache and now also a beard. Jaddu tries to be as Rajputana as he can amidst being a cricketer.
Who would he want to play the lead if ever a biopic was made on Ravindra Jadeja’s life? One would expect him to name someone like Ranveer Singh who has portrayed Bajirao Mastani on the screen or Hrithik Roshan who played Emperor Akbar in Jodha Akbar but his choice once again was unpredictable and rather hard to understand.
Jadeja in an interview with ESPNcricinfo said he would want ‘Emraan Hashmi’ to be the man in lead in his biopic. Even the interviewer was surprised hearing his answer as Hashmi was at one point famous for being a ‘serial kisser’ in Bollywood. He has quite some experience of enacting cricketers on the screen having played Mohammad Azharuddin in the former Indian captain’s biopic Azhar.
His idol growing up
The one cricketer he grew up idolizing is another left-hander who made India proud on the biggest of stages – Yuvraj Singh.
Further in the interview when Jaddu was asked what is more satisfying a five-wicket haul or hundred in Tests, he said he has a few five-wicket hauls in his career (nine) but is waiting for his first hundred.
One record he would want to have
As an all-rounder playing the longest format of the game, what is the one record you would want to have by the end of your career? Jadeja wants to score 100 runs and taking five wickets in the same innings.
Other than IPL which T20 league do you enjoy the most, the 29-year-old said that he enjoys watching the Big Bash League because of the quality of cricket.
